Probably the best quality available in the internet. Source files says that it's DVDrip, but it's really a TVrip. Old "flv-format" videos was replaced with the new "avi". Now it's in 640x480 resoluion (except the last two episodes - for some reason they are in 352x288) with smoother framerate and correct aspect ratio. Please enjoy first mature role of Bruce Lee in US, when for the first time all world saw, what the Kung-Fu is.

@@alucard624 Rogen by being part of it ruined it. He made the Green Hornet a party freak and a loser, and Kato was the one with brains. In this show, Kato was his sidekick (no pun intended) and the Green Hornet was the mastermind. Rogen just had to screw it up. Someone made a fan film that was really good, and THAT tone is what should have been used in the movie.

RIP, Van Williams... Passed away Nov 28 at age 82. Just got announced today from family and friends that he in fact died last week. Cause of death was renal dysfunction. He lost a kidney when he was 25 and lived the rest of of his life with one kidney. Shame the Green Hornet series isn't on home video perfect or not. You would think with the Bruce Lee tie-in it would be a shoo-in. I was surprised nothing came of a home video release when the Rogen film was released in 2011... There was a marathon week of GH episodes on SyFy around the time of the movie's release. The movie, of course, did NOTHING to elevate the public awareness of the character OR really help sell the character to a new generation. The only Green Hornet I've seen put on home video recently was a grey market feature film that mostly Kato scenes culled from the TV series...

This show’s set and costume design are awesome. Where as Batman was dripping with the mid-60’s pastels and go-go dancing, The Green Hornet was mostly steeped in the class and sophisticated style of 30’s and 40’s Noire with only a pinch of 60’s decor and fashion leaking through. I love it! One complaint I have is it would’ve been cooler if Kato had threatened that Trump guy with one of his sai instead of a Hong Kong Phooy chop.

+William Perkins I liked GREEN HORNET better than BATMAN, though I loved watching BATMAN, too. GREEN HORNET was similar & different at the same time. Both series were by GREENWAY PRODUCTIONS. Both were narrated by William Dozier. Both Batman and Green Hornet had secret identities and both had hidden lairs with secret entrances. While BATMAN was campy with a silly theme song that was easy for us to sing along with (Just one word, "Batman" repeated over again), GREEN HORNET was more serious, beginning with a more exciting theme song (played by Al Hirt) that said "action & excitement ahead". While Batman fought villains that were as amusing as they were dastardly, the Green Hornet fought cold-blooded criminals. The Green Hornet dealt with murders that needed to be solved. The show was almost like MANNIX. Green Hornet was strictly no-nonsense. This isn't to say that I didn't enjoy BATMAN. I did and I even got BATMAN-THE COMPLETE SERIES on Blue-Ray DVD. (I wonder why, while keeping their secret identities secret, did Green Hornet call his assistant "Kato". That would've been like Batman calling Robin "Dick Greyson" while fighting crime in costume.)

The "Green Hornet" was more of a "Grown-up" type of show, with more orgnized-crime types, than the campy villians of "Batman". Besides the same production company, both shows shared Mr. William Dozier as narrator.

Seth Tyrssen Which is exactly why The Green Hornet got canceled by ABC; the network and TV viewers wanted another Batman on their hands, but after five episodes, the series started to tank in the Nielsen ratings and never recovered. Only 26 episodes of this show was made by 20th Century-Fox for ABC.

@@dariowiter3078 I loved Batman more as a kid, but as I grew older and rediscovered the old radio shows and movie serials of my parents' generation, I fell in love with TGH and gained much appreciation for the TV series as well. It really was a lot like those older stories. Maybe that's why it seemed to miss a target demographic. Adults of the 1960's had "outgrown" the old radio shows and serials, and kids (though by no means all of them!😁) found Batman more fun and exciting. Batman's campy humour also appealed to many adults, while flying over most kids' heads. I remember watching it with my parents, who would laugh out loud and then have to explain to "kid me" why, so I learnt some things too. In that way it was a show for the whole family. Had The Green Hornet TV show come out 10 or 15 years earlier, I'm sure it would have been a big hit with that generation of young people. The stories and characters were much better and more realistic than Batman. I still wish Van and Bruce had got at least 1 more season!

Great fun and thanks a thousand times for posting this hard to locate treasure of Pulp Fiction, early color teevee style! Riding on the tsunami of fan base approval generated by the camp defining "Batman" series, this was going to be the vessel Bruce Lee would ride to riches and worldwide acclaim. I hear that, in Hong Kong, it's called "The Kato Show". Without a doubt it is deeply ingrained into oriental viewers, and WuXia fans in particular; does anyone not recognize Kato Reborn in Jet Li's "Mask"?

I think this show was somewhat ahead of its time. I don't think viewers, particularly concerned parents, were ready to accept a tv show of "costumed" crime-fighters with such a gritty tone. In some ways, I think The Green Hornet could be seen as a precursor to Arrow.

I have to disagree with your analogy.Concerned parents? Heck, back than families watched Combat and The Rat Patrol, ya know. Talk about violence. It was everywhere, but we as a generation knew what was real and what was fantasy. We kids back in the 60's loved the Green Hornet, especially seeing Kato Fight! Seriously, Bruce was the star, no question! Especially, when you compared the fight scenes with Batman! It was for me, just watching the Green Hornet and waiting for Kato to fight! Bruce was totally stunning! and us kids had to just say WOW!!!, and to talk about it in school the next monday! It was just beyond cool! We've never seen anything like before. The only example at that time was Emma Peel of the Avengers TV series that had even mentioned the word "Karate" and had some simple moves, to which was different and exciting back in the day, and than there was the "Karate" fad that even expanded to a aftershave (HI Karate) (Oriental Lime! Hmmmm, soo exotic!) which had came out, and it really started to take hold to became of a real fad at that time. Kato was the Ultimate hero! Even my brother went as Kato for Halloween back in 1966. Seriously, the adults didn't listen to us kids, and the critics had a field day with it. The same idiots who had criticized "Gilligan's Island" as being a flop, regardless of the fact that actual fans loved the series. Inconsequently, both shows had became true American icon classics in TV history. Not only that the studios didn't listen to it's fans, but they also blamed economics on producing the show. Honestly, it's no different than Star Trek. It was prematurely cancelled too, but the power of the fans forced Hollywood to recognize it, only seeing that their was a profit to be made from it...... But Hollywood was, and still is prejudge against the Asian people. Even though, they had the opportunity to really capitalize on it, they still didn't take advantage of it. The TV show "Kung Fu" was written for Bruce, but they decided on hiring an Irish actor from Hollywood named David Carrington to play the lead role. Bruce's over seas movies were a international success regardless. (Even out selling "The Sound Of Music" over in the Orient) Carl Douglas had the hit song "Kung Fu Fighting", (first Jamaican artist to have a top 40 American hit record) and it was a big hoopla when American President Richard Nixon went to China back in 1972. Hollywood blew it!!!! It was the small companies like AIP at that time that was selling (Karate) blackexpolitation movies that gave Jim Kelly a career. And all those Bruce Lee exploitation movies to be seen here in the United States. You know, Bruce lei, Bruce table, Bruce chair......... The Green Hornet was a great show regardless! Because it was Bruce Lee, and we kids knew it!!! Unless you were alive at that time, and old enough to actually comprehend it, it's a whole different reality as far as generations go.........Peace!!

sebring1960 You make pretty good points as to why it got cancelled. Having been a kid in that particular era is certainly a strong factor. I'm someone who discovered the show around in the mid-late 1980's as a kid. To me the show works almost like pulp- magazine stories come to life. I think it truly captures the mood of those yarns. Yes, Bruce Lee was a sight to behold, but I think Van Williams brought a credible sturdy presence as the title role. Very much what Batman would have been without camp. With the cool gadgets and car, it feels like a street-wise James Bond. So, all in all, to me, the show stands as one of the coolest, early no-nonsense superhero shows.

Too bad you weren't around during it's first run of the show. 1966 was an absolute phenomenal year for TV! Then, I discovered he was a co star in a television show-- 26 episodes!
