The IMPERIAL was NOT a "Chrysler" . This is a common mistake that many people , who don't know the car's history, have made for DECADES. The "Chrysler" Imperial was only built from 1926-1954, and from 1990-1993. Starting in 1955, the IMPERIAL was SPUN OFF of the Chrysler Division, and became it's OWN MAKE and DIVISION.... and did NOT bear the Chrysler name AT ALL. Since the Imperial that was made into the Black Beauty was made in the mid Sixties, It was an IMPERIAL...NOT A "Chrysler" Imperial. The "Chrysler" name was NOWHERE on the car, nor was it used in ANY of it's advertising, on television commercials, newspapers or magazines. It was ALWAYS listed SEPARATELY from Chrysler. The TV used cars of which there were only two are both 1966 Imperial Crowns.

Dean is alive and kicking! George Barris is also alive. Jeffries built both Black Beauties and Monkeemobiles, George had nothing to do with either car except for selling Monkeemobile 2 a few years ago.

Dean is 1 of the few classic car customizers still alive from the Barris built Batmobile (& the 2 Munster cars, with the Monkee mobile) days, I believe both of the Barris brothers have passed away some years ago

The original was 350HP if that is what you mean. Lets see front and rear rockets front gas gun or flame thrower, Rear oil slick, flame thrower or ice spreader sounds impressive to me. At least its realistic compared to the abortion of the upcoming film car. Styling of the original car is right on. The new one looks like it was a stock car and someone glued things on it. Ill take the original any day!

@RSBSTEADICAM Who might that be? Is there a link somewhere? The car in this documentary is owned by the Petersen Museum in LA now. At the time of filming it was owned by Ringe.

classic, and awesome. if you compare THIS one to the 2011 version, you'll probably see that this one looks almost like a toy because the tires will look WAY too thin compared to the new beauty's wide tires. Also the original is WAY too underpowered compaired to the new car, which has guns in the doors, in the trunk , and that raise up through the hood. the new one also has rockets not only in the front, but the rear as well. it also has front wheel drive; badass flamethrowers (front & sides)
