You're missed, Richard Farnsworth. Rest in Peace. This was a fine performance, along with Comes a Horseman and many others, including quite a few Faith Based films with Wilford Brumley. Many thanks to those who uploaded this entertaining film on YT for free! I really enjoyed it. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

This should have been Richard Farnsworth's second Oscar nomination. Sad he had to wait until 1999's "The Straight Story" for that. He is, and always will be, one of my all-time favorite actors. R.I.P. Mr. Farnsworth, and thank you for all you have done for us.

This film has been out of print for years! I watched it when it was first released. Best Love story ever! And Wild Western! The Grey Fox is a 1982 Canadian biographical Western film directed by Phillip Borsos and written by John Hunter. It is based on the true story of Bill Miner, an American stagecoach robber who staged his first Canadian train robbery on 10 September 1904. Starring Richard Farnsworth (those of us living in New Mexico know his legend well.)

Bill Miner was a real guy. The film doesn't drift too far from reality. Even better, some of the music in the film is from the Chieftains who composed it for this. It gave me a start realizing this wasn't that long ago and that all my grandparents and my minister growing up were small children during the events of this film. Come from being of a long lived people who marry late and have their numerous children even later.

a person could walk into the room and say " my father met thee thomas jefferson" and it could be a true statement, jefferson died in 1830, if a baby boy was placed in his arms and introduced and in 100 years had a child, { it,s concievable that a 100 year old man could impregnate a woman} 1830 +100 years is 1930 when his child would be born plenty of people born in 1930 are still alive, just an illistration to demonstrate just how young our country really is.

This is an interesting thing. I lived in Princeton British Columbia Canada and knew of 3 old timers from that area who claimed to have met Bill Miner They had no reason to lie about him. In fact of 2 I knew wouldn't lie about him. American jail keepers are wonderful for stating things that makes them seem infallible but on the other hand I do know the prisons of that time, to say they were horrendous would be a vast understatement. People would be given daily floggings as a punishment the lacerations on their backs were horrendous. Anyone put in solitary had no lights and I could go on and on it was the worst of the worst for people of that time.

Oh, if I didn't know better, I'd say the kicking horse creek was used in this film, but the Tulameen hotel is in BRITISH COLUMBIA. IT is a real hotel, in the Tulameen ,Coalmont area of BC! The words meen (half of TulaMEEN)are shown in this film! The reason I know is I did think of buying in this area back in 07 .SO I did research the area, and it was apparently an economical depressed area! But what they don't tell you is HOW MUCH SNOW this area gets! A mining company had to install a cable car system to get supplies in and move ore out! So obviously, this film was shot in that area of BC! CANADA. I enjoyed his acting ,rip!
