The 12gb variant will last a bit longer but tbh even that’s not enough for many more years to come, even at 1080p at this point. A 3090 and 4090 probably though, due to their insane amount of vram.

People who say stuff like can't future proof are lying or ignorant,monsters like 1080-ti destroy 1080p 2080-2070/3070/3080/4060-4080 also destroys 1080 and runs 1440 great these cards were meant to last for years it's multiple vids showing they run games great using high settings which is the setting people should all be using since max has been dead for like 8 years it's multiple vids showing it's not a big difference from max I just upgraded to a Monster 3080 2 years ago from a GTX 1080 I had since the month it came out I was getting great fps using 1440 high in every game I only upgraded cause I needed the newer tech for upscaling

I would not watch all these videos you post if you weren't so entertaining! Love the humour, just good fun and interesting to see what these old cards do. For us gamers who had computers when this card was released, it will always be the goat and hold a special place in history. I had one until 3000 series came. Loved it. Even today it is still impressive, that 11GB VRAM buffer was awesome. Keep the content coming, always good stuff, thank you.

Sorry but why tf would you buy a 1080Ti instead of like 3060 or 2070 Super... It's at the end of it's lifetime and doesn't support ton of features like Kryzzp said which will make it stutter like hell. Just look at 3060 vs 1080Ti comparison in Alan wake, night and day difference and there will be more games like this...

The RX 480 is faster than the 1060 and has more VRAM so works better in today's games. The RX 480 was also cheaper.

@@afti03 Hahaha! I totally get it! She used to have a little RX 460 GPU in her PC , she was playing some games with it, but not quite good for gaming (but for my HTPC is fine). Then I bought the 4080, no questions asked :p (got a "good enough" price , as I paid just above 1000 (I paid no taxes so that's the reason for that price tag - for the ZOTAC Trinity OC model of the card). I hope you get your 1080Ti into your Gf's PC , if she plays anything, she'll be thrilled. It's different to have it in your PC than just watching :p

Very nice video seeing how a 7 year old top GPU perform is very impressive, my Nitro+ RX Vega 64turned 7 years old on March 24, 2024, so I too will do some games in 2024 to see how well it kept up plus HBCC which can come in handy if the 8GB VRAM Limit may need to be surpassed.

hey kryzzp, in CS2 antialiasing is actually a competitive advantage as you can spot players through textures (like on vertigo), so could you please include at least x2 msaa in your next gpu reviews? the other important setting is shadows on at least high so you can spot players shadows.

Wouaaaa ! Very impressive to see high end GPU from 7 years old run well today in 1080p ! But like you said at the end of your video, the rx6600xt use less power to achieve the same or better (and if you undervolt/underclock 6600xt, you can have the most efficiency GPU today with only 50 to 90W of consumption ! Very impressive and perfect GPU for 1080p in my opinion). I haved the rx6600xt but I go recently on rx6800 ... and I'm very happy with this new bad guy ! Hope you the best

I always love when you make a benchmark video with a gpu that has lower performance than a rtx3060 or something. Newer cards kinda feel out of touch and i already know they gonna perform great where as with older cards i always wonder how they will perform in newer games .

Still using my founders edition 1080 ti. Bought it the day it released. It still kicks ass with over 3,000 hours on it. Some of the newer games have challenged it some the past couple years but most of the games I play like Red Dead 2 I can still go max settings with 60+ fps

My friend had that exact white gigabyte 1080ti model when it was new. The gaming experience on his pc was just surreal. I had just upgraded to 1060 6gb back then and it was good card too but 1080ti was just insane. And even though its 7 years old it still works very well in modern games. Remember, when 1080ti launched, the gtx 580 was 7 years old back then, and it would have been quite bad experience to use it in modern games at that point. The whole pascal line up is great tbh. My little brother is using gtx 1070 and it runs everything he plays very well. He doesnt play cod or the most demanding games but he gets 60fps in elden ring.

I have a 1080ti that has been mined on, changed the thermal paste and now it performs pretty well. Before i had a 3060ti but sold my pc coz money issues. 1080ti gives me comfort that is not that much slower. It is slower and it drains more power, but still, i get to play the newest games with reasonable settings. FSR3 mods have helped immensely as well. This card is a beast.

Is the video card overclocked or is it some sort of turbo mode? I've seen clocks as high as 1900mhz when default are around 1600mhz.

I bought my 1080 Ti in 2017 and "replaced" it just recently with a 3080 Ti. It was just no point to upgrage till now, I played a lot of PUBG, WZ2 with it and a lot of VR games. I had to upgrade because I do a lot of video editing/rendering and it is a very GPU intensive workload, I still have the 1080 Ti working next to my 3080 Ti, a lot of video editing software using them both. If there wasn't need for an upgrade for these video/3D rendering and AI applications that I work with then I still would use only the 1080 Ti. It is a great GPU. Glad to see it still keeping up with the new game titles.
