From the original blue and white, to magenta, to prison bars and most recently, back in black. Every Port Adelaide guernsey since 1870.

So does this put the jumper debate to bed. PAFCs first ever jumper was hooped and blue. Yes they have had many years in prison bars but if they claim to be the same team as 1870 then that is the jumper they should go with.

Port Adelaide Magpies and Port Power aren’t the same team. One plays in the SANFL and the other in the AFL(Formally the VFL before it expanded) All those that say ports SANFL premierships should count in the AFL telly are wrong. The only reason why the original VFL ones count is because is because it is still the same league just rebranded. If VFL sides joined the SANFL I would also expect them to start on 0 flags. Sorry Port fans but you have 1 flag not 36

counting two of our post 1996, SANFL premierships in our first grade side list is a little rich: Our first grade side won 34 Premierships until and including 1996, we then left the SANFL as a first grade side to play in the AFL, the PAMFC premierships, were not won by our first grade team representing us at the highest level: Moving forward, including our reserves premierships in our first grade tally will also stand us for more ridicule. IMHO. The PAMFC premierships were magnificent, but should remain in the tally won as a second grade team in a local comp.

35 Premierships have been won by our senior team.

Correct William; moving forward from when we left the SANFL in 1996 to a higher level of Football, then continuing to include seconds or local league premierships in our Senior or First Grade Premiership list is pure folly and continues to make us a target for ridicule.

@@crocodilepeter so as you would have it the post 96 gf wins should not be counted at all? Because technically the sanfl magpies were not at all affiliated to our afl club in any way (a separate entity if you will)...untill the one club movement combined both the sanfl magpies and afl pafc under one banner for the first time ever. So the post 96 flags should permanently never be counted?

@@petepowell7399 Hi Peter, It's really not as I would have it: The Port Adelaide Football Club/The Magpies: Left the SANFL at the end of the 1996 season having had won 34 SENIOR, 'A' Grade Premierships: That was the end of the Association of the PAFC with the SANFL as a club since it became an inaugural member of that league. Since then as we all know the PAMFC was taken over by the AFL club, PAFC est 1870 and used as their Reserves side. Therefore it is as the Members would have it. The PAFC est. 1870 then changed it's logo to accommodate its move into another League, changing from the Magpie to Power. The PAMFC ( Port Adelaide Magpies Football Club ) formed to REPLACE the PAFC , in the SANFL. Those two second grade Premierships as magnificent as they are, do not represent the Port Adelaide Football Club at the highest level, they are not the Clubs A'' Grade Premierships. Having said that, they are meritorious for a new outfit in a league that no longer represented the highest level possible for the PAFC; Adding those to the Senior list tally or any subsequent Premierships won by the Power Reserves (Nee the Magpies) to our ( The PAFC Est 1870 formerly the Magpies now the Power ) Senior Tally is Folly and will subject the PAFC to more and unfortunately deserved ridicule. Hence the PAFC has won 34 SANFL First Grade Premierships and one AFL First Grade Premiership for a Tally of 35 Senior First Grade PAFC Premierships. Reserves and second grade team Premierships shouldn't count in our First Grade tally. Albeit they should be counted as Premierships won by a Team in the SANFL that at any given time has a Magpies logo associated with it. ( How will we deal with it when that logo is changed to a Power symbol? )

@@crocodilepeter the pamfc as i remember it was indeed formed in 1997 and severed ties with the now afl pafc therefore the premierships won by them in this time should be counted as their own senior premierships. They were a separate entity entirely. Look i agree to not list them as pafc flags but even to brush them off as worthless is BS in my opinion. Calling them b grade premierships also by default insinuates ties with the afl, this is false. Between 1997 and 2011 as you would know the pamfc were not affiliated at all with the pafc.
