@Richard Geschwindner It's just my opinion but consider this: it's a fact that the groups who get nominated have a say in which members get in and which don't. Deep Purple original bassist Nick Simper was snubbed. No one has given a reason and he doesn't know why. Fleetwood Mac had a money disagreement with Bob Welch and the band got revenge by keeping him out of the Hall. In the case of The Guess Who, the name is owned by Jim Kale and so he would have some imput over who gets in and who doesn't. How embarassing for the Rock Hall would it be if Kale decided that Bachman and Cummings don't get in and the members of his fake Guess Who bar band do? Just my opinion.

Seeing Burton Cummings, who is by far one of the best voices in rock n roll, wearing a Boston Bruins Bobby Orr hockey jersey is comforting, I wore that same jersey as a kid growing up in Boston and watching #4 score that iconic flying through the air goal in the Stanley Cup finals! The memories just keep on coming to this 65 yo Bostonian by birth, Thanks Burton for great music and memories!

Grew up a Red Wings fan, but they were almost as bad in the 70's as they are now, so I had to rout for a winner... the Bruins! Derek Sanderson was my favorite, but "Pie Face" McKenzie, Terry O'Reilly, Orr, Esposito, Cashman, Bucyk and company played the game as we say, "the way it used to be played."

Saw The Guess Who around 71 or maybe 72, can't be sure at this point. (I was a mere sophomore in high school). I was expecting just a run down of their top 10 hits. Wow, was I surprised. Even though they played their hits I was truly amazed at the talent they had that didn't come across on their 45s. (showing my age now)! I have been a true fan since. Still listen to them on the radio and I have a different perspective now. I have been to many concerts over the years and I have always been impressed how much better a great band is better by seeing them live. Can really see all the talent each member has and it makes for a better concert experience.

I was fortunate to see The Guess Who several times in the 60s - they were just starting out in Winnipeg and used to play on loading docks of stores like the old Loblaws. The word would get out and we would gather and watch a live concert. The good old days. ❤ Still watching in 2024.

I used to try to copy his scat singing but to no avail. You know you want leave Eve! You know you got to Go Oh! When he would extend it at the end. I loved that part! Goodbye American Woman! Bye Bye!

They were a tight band. I was only 12 years old back then, but I had a lot of girl friends. I used to go to shows like this with bunches of chicks on my arms. IT was good times, and I'll always miss 'em.

Amen. I'd never thought to hear it done live, and here it is with "Bye Bye Babe", with one of Kurt's best solos, IMHO. Hard to believe that this line-up would be toast in just over a year.

Live at the Paramount in Seattle still a Top 5 "live" album of all time. This 1973 show I watched live on TV. Forgot what city it was filmed at though. The song,"Those Show Biz Shoes" with the lithe dancer swaying defies words. Big thanks for posting this Mark Farrell.

Before his departure from The Guess Who in May 1970, Bachman recorded an instrumental solo album for RCA Records, Axe, over three days in March 1970. The following year, he formed the country rock band Brave Belt with Chad Allan. Brave Belt released its first self-titled LP in 1971. Robbie Bachman was the drummer for Brave Belt, at barely 18 years-old. Fred Turner subsequently joined Brave Belt on bass and vocals, resulting in the band evolving into a heavier sound, which led to the departure of Chad Allan. Left with a three-member line-up, Tim Bachman joined as a second guitarist before Brave Belt disbanded for its members to form another band. With this lineup, the members formed a new band, Bachman-Turner Overdrive and signed a record deal with Mercury Records. Often referred to as "B.T.O." for short, they released their first self-titled album, Bachman-Turner Overdrive in May 1973. In December 1973, the band released their second album, Bachman-Turner Overdrive II. This album brought the band a greater commercial success than their debut, with hits such as "Takin' Care of Business" and "Let It Ride", which charted at #12 and #23 in the US, respectively. In 1974, they released their third album titled, Not Fragile. The release hit #1 on the album charts in both Canada and the United States. The album contained the hits, "Roll On Down the Highway" and "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet", which charted at #14 and #1, respectively. With the latter, Randy had the rare accomplishment of recording an American chart-topper for two different Canadian bands; the other being "American Woman" while he was in The Guess Who.[citation needed] The band remained on the charts through the mid-1970s with their next two albums, Four Wheel Drive and Head On. With these albums, they successfully had additional hit songs with "Hey You", "Take It Like a Man", and the jazz-oriented "Lookin' Out For No. 1". In late-1976, during the recording of their sixth studio album Freeways, some disagreements surfaced within the band. Bachman wrote all but one song and sang on every song but two, while some of the other band members felt that they didn't have enough good material to record and wanted to delay the release. Upon its release, the album charted at #70 in the US, but had no hit singles. Randy Bachman officially quit the band in mid-March 1977. The rest of the band would continue to record and tour until the end of the decade, after Randy agreed to sell the rights to the "BTO" name to the remaining band members.
