The lead singer is Burton Cummings, who you reacted to just 2 days ago singing Stand Tall. The Guess Who may well be Canada's all-time greatest rock band (with some deference to Rush), and they had MANY amazing tunes including American Woman, Share the Land, No Sugar Tonight / New Mother Nature, No Time, Laughing, These Eyes, Clap For the Wolfman, Hand Me Down World, Star Baby, Orly and many others. The first album I ever bought with my allowance money was Share the Land back in 1971. Their album Live at the Paramount is, in my view, one of the greatest live rock albums in history. Great, GREAT band!!

I discovered this canadian band during the 90's when I turned on a turntable at home. The Guess Who disc was on it. It was so amazing, I loved them immediately. This song is Unique and so perfect. I think my favorite The Guess Who's song is These Eyes, which is beautyful. And American Woman, wich was covered by Lenny Kravitz. Regards from Chile! :-)

So Burton Cummings (the singer) and Randy Bachman (guitar) were wandering around a pawn shop in Winnipeg and they saw a flute in the case. They said "wouldn't it be cool to have a flute in the band, unfortunately none of us know how to play it". The pawn shop guy pointed out that the fingering is the same as the saxophone. "Really?" says Cummings, "I used to play sax". So they bought the flute and recorded Undun. Kind of a bossa nova feel, my favourite song of theirs.

This was definitely his best...Hairstyle!!!! Seriously, he's in my top ten list but I wanted to give kudos to that haircut! Check out "Star Baby" Listen, there are no bad Burton Cummings songs and no bad "Guess Who" songs. They were a supergroup that didn't quite make it to super outside of Canada, but along the border we know Canada has produced top musicians: The Guess Who, Bachman Turner Overdrive, The Tragically Hip, Rush, Gordon Lightfoot, the list goes on, feel free to add to it, everybody! Burton had a live page on Facebook and as far as I know he is still there.

The story behind the song "Undone is interesting" It was the 1st time Burton Cummings played flute. According to co-founder and friend Randy Bachman. He had been listening to Bob Dylan on the radio go on and on with lyrics in a song when just as he was going to turn it off , he heard the words "She's Come Undone". It set him on a writing frenzy and he wrote a lot of verses himself. So when he brought it to Burton, they picked the best three verses.

@Simon Dingley Absolutely not about the Vietnam war. Burton Cummings wrote the lyrics and he has stated many, many, times over the decades that the song has nothing to do with that war or any other. It was about him thinking that the American girls were much more flashy and pushy than the Canadian girls he was used to.
