I think the audiobook gives the fast pace a better feel Definitely a bit coincidental (aka Olivia and Hannah’s sister) but it’s an enjoyable read. I compared reading it and the audiobook and the audiobook impo gives it the feel your looking for in a thriller as opposed to reading it because I honestly don’t get the thriller vibes at first from the pages if that makes sense.

I find this book very boring, super slow and the writing was too draggy and long-winded. Only the last part was exciting. Slow burn. Can't stand the writing style. Paragraphs are too long and emotions are too dramatic.

I had high expectations from the book which i believe came from the blurb, but after reading it i was a bit disappointed. 1. I loved the idea of having a wedding on an island, and the killer being one of the guests, while many of them had the motive to kill. 2. if you are a fan of mystery novel the ending is gonna be prediactable for you. 3. At a lot of moments i felt that there were loopholes ( for e.g. the storm) which could have been used to make the plot more thrilling and mysterious. 4. I think the book focused more on the characters than the plot, the time it took to tell us about all the characters didn't feel worth investing after knowing who the culprit was and its motive. 5, I would have enjoyed it more had there been more characters and with stronger motives to kill. 6. If i were the author, i would have loved to experiment the plot around multiple cunning characters, the guests being trapped in the storm, a person being brutally killed every hour, questions of doubts arising among the guests as they remember their sins, all they know is deceit, now on the basis of the threat of being killed they want to kill first. the night has become bloody, like the way the killer wanted it to be. but who is he?

This book is definately NOT WORTH THE HYPE!!!!! Boring...and at the end I didn't even care who the murderer was. Not recommended.

I really enjoyed it! I thought the setting was suitably unsettling. The different perspectives building towards revelation was great. I haaaated some of the characters - like as in who they were as ppl. Very uncomfortable. More thoughts on my channel 😄

This book is easily one of the worst books I’ve ever read. It’s too coincidental as you said and it’s overhyped. I can’t believe Goodreads rated it the best mystery/thriller book of 2020. It’s easily a 2/5

This book was anything but fast pace…😅I’m struggling to finish reading it! So many booktubers gave this book 4/5 stars and I’m not sure why. I’m in the middle and Im contemplating on stopping. Have you read anything else by Lucy Foley?

Twice I tried reading this book but ended up DNF’ing it, unfortunately. The writing seems very NA themed, rather amateurish.

One of the worst books I read. I honestly don't understand the hype on so many books so poorly written. I listened on audiobook, every other sentence was " he said, she said, then he said, and then she said" How on earth these books get published is mind boggling . The fact that all the women were lusting after the guys, married or not. And the guys were all acting like teenagers like they never left school made it so cringy! Thank god I listened to the audiobook for free cause its garbage worthy!
