Great stuff, if even half of the players learning the game watched this, it would be far more competitive on the game.

After watching E day trailer I bought Gears 5. Seeing player bouncing around the map made me laugh so much. Didn’t realise it was an actual strat.

I've fallen out of love with most shooters and i play a lot of rpgs and fighting games instead, but Gears' movement just keeps me coming back, its so damn sick

Great video brother. I can't believe it took this long for someone to recognize the strength of the regular strafe. One of the best movement mechanics to get really good with especially if you play multiple shooters.

For anyone wanting the classic alt into tourney binds, it’s as simple as put on classy alt and swap your tac com (left bumper) and your cover/mantle (a). Started using tourney alt back in 4 and it’s great for people who wanna casual grip and still be hitting these crazy movements. I’m no esports pro, I need tons of practice, but I’ve hit masters a few times so I feel confident saying tourney alt is perfect for casuals looking to ante up.

I just used these tactics and I am very grateful, I have became a way better gears player thanks to this vid, thank you.

Thanks for this. I just got back into Gears after 5 years of hibernation. Been playing gears since 2007. I see alot of changes now. Especially with the Lancer being used heavily. I still have that mentality where Lancer are for noobs and sucks theres no Hammerburst as your main AR.

Woah I never knew how to do default-alternative since that's not an option for a control scheme. I tried it just now... got insane kills without putting much effort and concentration... like 50% or less... on default it has to always be in the 90 percentage of that or higher. I was dodging bullets like crazy, no one could hit me for the majority of the time... on default if you don't do what you wanted to do, you will die like 90% of the time. Not on default-alternate... all types of wallbouncing is easy on this control scheme. This is my first time using it and within moments I could get insane comebacks in ffa, and play for hours and still get top 3 atleast like every time. You initiate wall bounce faster and your strafing is even faster, and the bounce from start to finish feels & looks faster too. You can also roll off of sliding into cover faster and even get back into cover after rolling faster. I'm telling yall, normal default is a huge handicap, it's broken In comparison... like taking the bumpers off of the bowling ally.... may be more of a handicap then that even. It even seems to whip your shots potentially, which could be the hardest thing getting used too. Some wallbouncing sequences seem impossible on normal default; Not on this scheme... I was up in everyone's grill bouncing all around them from any distance from them and me, and they couldn't kill me for a very long time... i could escape any "tight near death expereine." @Avexys I personally need to see someone play on normal default and get a good win streak in FFA under 10 deaths each time.... I need to believe it's possible.... that's my challenge I present to you.

This was NEEDED! I haven’t really touched (or want to touch) Gears anymore because I’m just in a slump of never getting better and in a state of going backwards, getting worse. My movement is ass, I still fuck up most gunfights by an accidental roll and I can’t aim for shit. 😮‍💨 And I use Tournament too, cause I just can’t do the other options.

The claw isn’t necessarily the only way to play with wall bouncing there is a bumper jumper like setting

Man I don’t think I will ever be persuaded to play claw. Thankfully I’m a PC player so I don’t have to worry about all that but I played Xbox most of my life and I was a broke kid so I just learned to get really good with default grip. I have big hands and I could play claw but I just don’t have the muscle memory and it makes me noticeably worse. At this point in life if I was back on console I would easily fork over the money for paddles.
