For the extra wide moulding, hope are you cutting the other side so you get the right measurements? I can't quite work it out

In the first example, is that a strip of 'carton'? is that card or mountboard?

Hallo Nick, we suggest to use a strip of grey board of about 3 mm (mountboard would be too valuable to use for this purpose, and it would be too thin also, at least the 1,4 mutti standard).

Very good videos thanks... but please clarify - is the 'carton' referred to when cutting very soft wood an offcut strip of mat board?

The carton can be either mat board of also grey board.

How prevent not chip a ornate moulding?

You can make several cuts for one moulding, but for ornate mouldings it is preferable to use a saw to prevent from damages of the surface
