This was comprehensive; thank you! LDN, I have discovered during perimenopause, blocks il4, reducing inflammation. It has helped tremendously. Diet/lifestyle wasn’t cutting it. Still afraid taking estradiol would exacerbate the breast lumps. Dr, how does estradiol bhrt impact existing lumps and underarm lymph nodes?

Thank you. Great video - exactly what I’m experiencing right now and it’s a real struggle! Just entered menopause and my gut is really not happy which seems to be impacting my nervous system at night 😢 Will implement your suggestions and look forward to hearing more on the subject.

Brilliant info I’m doing all of this . I did get for two years but at 61 felt it was t serving my body. As a mostly clean eater who makers her own kefir I am recognising that we were not intended to prolong what our bodies are naturally transforming but we must support it . I also use wild yam and many supplements plus exercise and meditation

Thank you Dr Gersh 💛 What do you think about consuming phytoestrogens like soy milk and tofu when we're taking oestradiol? I stopped drinking soy milk because I read it stopped HRT being properly absorbed. That phytoestrogens go to the same receptors, and block the effectiveness of the oestradiol we're taking. What do you think? Or is it actually beneficial to us to have both HRT and soy and other phytoestrogens? 😊xx

How and where do you get bio identical hormones ? Certainly not at the gynecologist ‘
@tamih6533
@tamih6533 2 ай бұрын
I thought I'd have to pay $1000s at one of those boutique docs & compounding pharmacies (which aren't a good option for reasons other than cost!) but I just found out there are actually bioidentical hormones that are FDA approved, available at the retail pharmacies. My doc said he usually doesn't prescribe it because of the cost, but I insisted on it. Generic micronized progesterone and an estradiol patch cost me less than $40/month. If you don't have insurance, look at Good Rx. Their coupons lower it to about that amount.

@@tamih6533 I thought only the synthetic kind like Premarin is FDA approved.

So did I! I took the synthetic stuff for a year and it cured my hemorrhaging but I was miserable! I went off for a year and felt even worse, so I started doing more research. Micronized progesterone is bioidentical and there are studies that show its safer than Provera (which is what is usually prescribed.) For estrogen replacement, I am on the generic version (made by Mylan) of Vivelle dot. This is also bioidentical. Today is Day 8 on these meds and I am already seeing tremendous improvement in my mood, motivation, energy level, sleep quality, hot flashes. Plus my skin looks better and I love my husband again 😂 I'm lucky that my doc will give me whatever I want, but if yours won't, keep looking. Don't go to those BS clinics that want to charge you thousands a month for pellets (which aren't FDA approved!) Good luck!

sometimes progesterone can make you tired, so take it at night. I was taking the Provera at night and was completely dysfunctional during the day. I literally had to nap every day! Idk if it was the medicine or a menopause symptom, but either way, that has drastically improved since I started on the micronized progesterone

don't just eat a salad for breakfast you need protein in your first meal, I'm sure she meant 'in addition' to protein sources. "dietary sources of glutamine include plant and animal proteins such as beef, pork, poultry, milk, yogurt, ricotta cheese, cottage cheese...

This is old info. The studies back in the 80s were skewed data and done on ladies ten years post menopause. It’s nuanced. You can read Dr. Mary Claire Haver’s book the New Menopause as well as Dr. Sara Gottfried. I’ll never not be on HRT. It scared us to death and we ladies have suffered ever since ❤

Insurance especially Medicare won’t pay for doctors like you or your labs so it’s not affordable for most. Doctors like you here in az, if there are any, call themselves functional medicine docs or concierge medicine both types don’t even accept insurance any more because insurance companies / Medicare won’t pay. Medicine in America is not preventative, you are not treated as a whole person but parts to be sent to this specialist and that specialists. You PCP just gets you in and out doesn’t take the time needed to put the pieces together to find solutions but rely on others and then they only deal with their specialty. You can’t even go to get labs done again if you change doses you have to wait 6 months because Medicare will only pay twice a year. So you end up going to the ER when dose is to high. They think that doesn’t cost a pretty penny? So messed up
