Does it though? Lore Spartan III's were made for high reward high risks missions. TORPEDO and PROMETHEUS were a disaster of course, but the companies were never meant to perish within a single mission. Especially since both had a lot of success before their respective dooms. The show versions are just regular ass marines on a quest to die lol

they managed to make a halo show, (a show where we want to watch spartans and marines run around and fight the covenant), and revolve the entire plot around keeping them benched and away from as much covenant activity as possible lmao. when we got to reach i was like finally ! chiefs getting action ! and then the plots like ay, but we took the suits away and i audibly sighed. at this point ive stuck with it cause im unfortunately still curious where it goes and the budget is honestly really good

The reason why they keep them as you said, "benched and away from as much covenant activity as possible" is because of budget-related reasons. Kiki said that they wanted to do lots of Fall of Reach but in the end, they kept it contained to just one episode because it would have blown their budget. This really would have worked better as a big-budget blockbuster movie. Paramount+ as a streaming service is losing millions each year so they're not super enthusiastic about putting more money into the show.

In the games chief doesnt get his armour removed from halo 2 till the end of halo 4 cus its like a whole process you need special equipment and everything and the big machine. Even at the end of halo 4 they have to remove in manually because he wont fit in the machine since spartan-IIs are like 2 feet taller than IVs

Master chief canonically has a title above everyone else. They specifically gave him his own rank that outranks everyone, so he could shout at that guy withou a care.

Master Chief is still "just" a Master Chief Petty Officer. Any officer outranks him but most of them know who and what he is and so will defer to his experience and combat prowess. Every now and then he comes across some asshole officer who tries to order him around but he knows how to deal with that pretty well.
