Absolute chills. The Halo 1-3 scores have always been some of my absolute favorites and in particular, the main theme always moves me deeply. This performance on classical guitar is nothing short of phenomenal.

I forgot I was screen casting so when this work of art came blaring through the tv… it just stopped my world for 2:24. Being able to unlock such a powerful memory for so many of what an impact Bungie and 343 had on like all these folks said, our childhood our upbringing, “core memories” for so many came from that game and the 1,000s of people you just reached with that same shared 2:24 is something special thank you for your time.

My first experience with Halo was when CE came out on PC. Not that I wasn't acquainted with orchestral music in video games, but when I heard the Gregorian chant opening, I was blown away to the point I was wondering if this was the right game. This classical rendition brought that memory rushing in and I was 13 all over again for a minute. Excellent work, and you're inspiring me to pick up my guitar again if for nothing else than to learn this.

Nah, obviously its a Fantasy setting version of the storyline. Instead of the Elites, Grunts, Jackals, and Brutes you have Orcs, Goblins, Kobolds, and Ogres. Instead of guns you've got magic and swords. Instead of the flood you have an undead hivemind led by a lich who gave himself to his creation. Honestly it sounds really badass and I cant help but picture it this way XD

@@corvus196 I am quite biased towards fantasy settings and hearing the early parts of this, for some reason when I heard the higher notes I thought of a lute or a lyre (I've not heard a lyre played but I imagine that's what It would sound like), as for a brief moment I pictured it playing in a tavern. I’d say something like GOW 2018 or tlou part 1, heck even for the nostalgia overload I’d even say skylanders Spyro’s adventure. But hey, that’s just my opinion. But the halo theme is a banger

Crazy how easily it goes from a mysterious scifi song to a badass wild west theme. EDIT: Ya'll are crazy, it definitely sounds wild west. If you hear this (especially the beginning) and don't picture tumbleweeds rolling across the desert then I don't even know what to tell you. But I'll admit the later part definitely sounds like something you'd hear in The Witcher or something.

Every once in a while this magical KZfaq algorithm suggests something that just captures me, and boy did it strike gold this time. This was just fantastic, truly brought out that epic feel that felt all those years ago when I first played Halo. Less “epic Sci-Fi journey” and rather, more of a “pre climax Western build up”, (“gathering supplies to save your sister, release the stolen cattle, and blow up that good-for-nothing McGregor’s Family Ranch”, kinda vibe). Well done. I only wished you had the guitar drum on a loop to carry you through to the end.

This almost feels like a moment of quiet respite, as if Master Chief is sitting by a campfire, helmet taken off, taking a moment to recall the moments of the many that had fallen in the midst of a massive battle. As the night skies draw away like the curtains and reveal the morning sun, Master Chief puts his helmet back on understanding that peace is often short-lived when won through the means of battle, and that there will always be a force within the universe that will try to threaten that calm now present within the galaxy… Until the last of the Covenant was obliterated, he would continue fighting until the day he no longer had to, or he had fallen in battle. Not a moment sooner.

Thoughts of downtime with Tommy killing a few spare hours; of Sarah -rolling her eyes at the two of them getting so into a round of deathmatch. "Damn good one I recall. Shooting aliens, shooting each other. It was a lot of dumb violence." He took a moment to look at Ellie, still under the poster's spell. He allowed himself a smirk. "You probably would've loved it." "Fuck, man. I definitely would've!" She sighed. With a suck of her teeth, they both continued on.

Not a halo fan, can't remember hearing the theme before now... but I can appreciate music. And I can say, it's so cool how just changing the instrument can preserve the sense of upcoming adventure and intensity of the original theme, but slightly change the meaning behind it. The original context is sci-fi, from what I know. Here, it sounds like a classical epic tale being told to you, like a bard is regaling you with a tale on equal level of Beowolf or the Illiad. Like through the music, they're inviting you into the world of the story and all the adventure that awaits within. Like it's telling you the tale of a hero, or many heroes, and their battles, slowly drawing you in with an air of mystery from the start before unfurling the full force of the story for you, then wrapping up with a reprise of the beginning to let you take a moment to contemplate how this story has changed you, changed your life. To wonder where the heroes go when they walk off into the sunset.

@@pedxing ok, why can I imagine this being the theme for cheif after him and his group of Spartans dropping onto a ring, but getting shot out of the air part way and having their stuff destroyed, making it so their stuff like their AI's, vehicles, food, and ammo unusable from damage to a luggage part of the drop pod, and forcing them to just rely on nothing more then stolen covenant equipment and scraps from the other soldiers who got massacred when the Spartans didn't make it to the drop location in time
