Kids take note. This man's tackling form is just about textbook. Get in position; square up; note runner's options; launch with eyes open (so you can see evasive manuevers and stiff arms) and arms out; tighten your grip once contact made; hold on until runner is down. ^ Doesn't describe all tackles but does for most tackles made in open field.

Todd was a great tackler and very much into weight lifting. He was about 225 lbs, but in one game when he was on the Broncos he decided to punt to Hester. I believe Hester got two TD’s on punts!
@mrmacross4 ай бұрын
One punt and one kickoff return. The best part was that Sauerbrun was adamant in the days leading up to the game that he was not afraid of kicking to Hester. Everyone clowned him afterward. My favorite clip of a Hester return was his second TD because Dan Dierdorf was so disgusted that they kicked it in the middle of the field right to Hester.

@@mrmacrossI'll always remember a SICK play where the opponent kicked the ball, the Bears had Hester and Johnny Knox back but Hester ran opposite side of the kick and pretended to field the kick meanwhile Knox caught it and ran it back down the opposite sideline without being touched, for a TD. It’s cool that some of the kickers and punters can tackle,but if they have to hit you, it usually means that the defending team of a kick or punt has already given up too many yards on the return by the time the kicker/punter catches up to the return man.
