In this video, I play the first 5 Penny Challenges from the Plants vs. Zombies Reflourished mod. These are long levels and some of the hardest in the entire mod!

Nice job on enduring all of these, glad the level designers did their job in providing some grueling challenges. Also, apparently, a condition for these challenges is that they all have to be at least 40 waves long (waves are each time a new set of Zombies shows up on the lawn), so I'm not sure if these can delve much into anything outside of the territory of long endurance levels. Also, something I just personally found funny: 1:36 "E.M.Peach and Blover are pretty straight forward." "I doubt anyone can beat this without those two. At the very least E.M.Peach." You'd be surprised. In fact, to add to this idea, the Rfl Discord Server now actually has a level archive channel that showcases "Extra" variants of all the PCs so far that each slap on an added change to the level that makes it more challenging, and the one for Battery Ram makes it so Blover and E.M.Peach are removed from the Seed Selection. So uh... yeah, that's an interesting predicament.

10:31 Because Zcorp Chair Racer has a camera attached to his head, which is mechanical equipment. The camera is now made of metal (since Steam Age part 2 upgrade), thus Magnet-shroom can instantly kill him.

is good to see the struggle with a fear to modernity, that level is really designed to bring out the tip-top strats (gotta say that pulling through with only secondary sources of stall is a flex)

Shrinking Violet is downright CRUCIAL for most of these challenges, i'm surprised you won every one of them without it

Especially in a fear of modernity with the garg spam, shrinking violet helps so much not only weakening them but also getting rid of the many many imps that are to be thrown

@@ACRockerI beat Fear of Modernity without Shrinking Violet! I simply used Pea Pod and Torchwood (Got them all to shoot the white fireballs) and littered the whole place with Shine Vine. I would argue that Shine Vine is the one that is straight up necessary to beat these challenges! It not only boost your sun production on your sun producers but it also stun locks zombies with it's strobulb flash! That flash can hold many zombies in place at the same time and every zombie affected produces 5 sun each! Meaning you can get rid of your sun producers later on and place more attackers in their place! As long as you protect them with Shine Vine, you can shield them from Garg Prime's laser attacks, the main reason why I choose Shine Vine above all others, and any zombies that are getting too close (via ambush or imp throw) will be held in place for one extra second! Not only will that give you 5 extra sun for your buck, but also, the one extra second you may need for an advantage! No matter if you're using ice plants to slow them down or fire plants for massive fire power, it's always a good idea to use Shine Vine! With ice plants, they will be hit with the stun flash more times than normal, and with fire plants, they may need that extra second of stun time that Shine Vine provides! Of course, you can't always bring Shine Vine to your deck because of other priorities but it's never a bad idea to bring it!

I have to agree with you that mecha football is annoying af. Insanely tanky with a VERY VERY INFURIATING ABILITY, especially since the best strategy is to place your powerful plants in the back. It also ruins your symmetry, which alone makes it more annoying than octo

I actually like the development foresight and international of Repairimps' station ability, the stations were not only healing mechanical stuff from The Steam Ages, but also capable of healing Far Future Mechas and probably robot animals like Bull Zombie. Kudos to The Reflourished Team!

Of course. The almanac entry says that the repair station could heal MECHANICAL ALLIES, which mean it can heal most Far Future zombies.

@@flagzombie if HH 12 was hard for you, originally you didn't have Hot Potato and had Sunflower instead of Sun Shroom. The frozen Boom Balloon Flower also didn't exist.

I’m surprised you didn’t use cold snap or a stronger piercing plant for Wiltening, Cold Snap and Elect Pea were the hard carries of my run,, good to know that these levels have multiple solutions!

also on the mention on if we like these levels, idk honestly, for me personally, I would’ve enjoyed them more if I didn’t have to pay for a key to try these, because losing feels so crushing because I don’t have a lot of gems lol, I guess I just have to play inzanity more but I feel like these levels would be so much color if we had more retries

I didn't expect you to make videos for these, but it is greatly appreciated. I gave some of these a try and just could not figure anything out. I don't know for sure, but if I had to guess as to why the Bull Rider Imps in Up'n Down Chicanery died when they spawn, I''m guessing it's so that they don't cause you to lose if they go past the slider tile and continue onward. Thank you for the great content as usual, can't wait to see you do the rest of Hypothermic Hollows!

The cacti that weren't scared of the chocolate were also not hitting it with their shots. Either there was a visual bug and there was no chocolate, or the chocolate's real location is on the left side of its sprite. I am guessing the latter, because the cacti were consistently hiding from chocolate on the tile in front of them even if they themself didn't have chocolate on their own tile.

I'm kinda split on long levels, sure they are a bit annoying but i feel as giving the levels something unique (for example the greatest pvz 1 mini game ever, CLYSM) could offer a good amount of replayability in me, seeing how my tactics can, or to just make my own long levels with them.

I enjoyed this video it doesn't matter if it was short or long. I agree mecha-football is one of the worst zombies in PvZ2 his ability is powerful removing the plants if they reach enough range to ruin the entire defences. Btw Shine vine REALLY shines in these levels.

i think these challenges are really good for those people that liked the brutal pvz mod but as a dumb arse casual these were like too hard because of the early game and i couldnt even get past it... so this is also a thank you for making this video

I myself for an early game use celery stalker, because its cheap and is good for early game on almost anything, while also being good for gargs if they are stunned. I also use sun shroom specifically because you dont have to worry much about early game costs, if you use primal sunflower then you get your celery recharged but not enough sun to plant it immediately. by the second wave if you plant the celery on the 4th most column you get 3-4 in each lane

honestly, I like how the difficulty feels like something in pvz1 survival endless, where you have to prepare before the struggle happens. and figuring out the right plants isn't too bad since you probably won't get far if you don't figure them out. also, AoE plants are probably the best for these challenges since zombies stack up fast. My personal favorites for these have to be Ice Bloom and Solar Tomato for how much value you can get out of them, Ice Bloom being a full board stun and clearing out weak zombies, and Solar Tomato racking up tons of sun with stunning too. Overall, I like these challenges, it brings something new to Pvz2.

- Now looking back i still can't believe i beat the FB level with Dusk Lobber and Fanilla :)) - I lost 10 gem in FF lv because i for some reason pick STUNION instead of E.M Peach. - HM lv would be piece of cake without the GothDamn Punk - First attempt with WW lv. Ultomato for the win. - MD lv is a true nightmare so I skip it :) 4 fking rows of Dusk Lobber and still lost to the goddamn Mecha Football hiding behind the Garg

My favorite one so far is definitely the Frostbite Caves one and it actually has zero things to do with the goofy tiles and Lane 6. The zombie choices besides Arcade just feel like they all work together for the world (since all Chinese New Year zombies take half fire damage). Sorta wish more basic Reflourished stages would play into the world's gimmick by bringing zombies from other worlds that counter-play that world's gimmick, like other mods.

On the last level, the blast berry vines did really come in clutch bc they could damage all weasels and multiple zombies sometimes getting rid of weak ones and they could also have damage input when the jack o lanterns were out

I somehow beat Battery Ram with Void Orchid and Electric Current. With good Grape Shot Usage and Intesive Carrot Reviving some of the Blackholes, it was more than possible. I also used Shrinking Violet and Sqaush for the early and late game for more support.

Cool vid man. The wiltening was the hardest one for me, for the Last one i used primal peashooter and pyro vine (which trust me when i say it but it was really good) and i didn't need plant food. Pls say how many tries it took you to complete each one of these next time.
