Welcome to the second installment of Ratio Retribution - a series where I 100% some of the most difficult games I can find!
This time we're playing Super Meat Boy!
A phenomenal platformer released back in 2010 by Team Meat.
Full of incredibly difficult challenges that will have you pulling your hair out in RAGE!
I had the idea to make a video on this game back when I completed the game in FEBUARY! But alas...
The universe did not want me to finish this video... A script re-write, The release of Starfield, 2 weeks of being sick, getting a cat and of course good old fashioned procrastination pushed this project back from August/September all the way to now.
But now the grind is over - I'M FREEEEEEE!
And I SHOULD be producing content at a more consistent rate!

Had to re-upload because I made a mistake at the beginning and it drove me crazy but it's finally here! Also if anyone knows what show is played at 40:42 you are a legend! EDIT: Oh and while re-recording footage for some of the later worlds, I discovered there was a glitch level in The End I hadn't found yet but I beat it and so my final completion percentage is at 106% not 105%.

Whether the "alley" is the aisle at the store or their place of application is debatable but what is not is that the levels have gotten hormonal and angry at you.

That's it. No-death dark realms (or even time trials) are the hardest achievements, why do we deserve clickbait title to this awesome game/

@@IceEscapeEasy yeah. For me, all achievements took 70 hours to complete (which is fast from what I've seen). Dark Rapture and Dark Cotton took 18 and 20 hours respectively, more than half of the entire hunt. And to compare the difficulty - the original 106% took me like 10 hours to complete, maybe even less. 7-14x and 7-15x took me hundreds of tries to just beat once, and you have to do them perfectly basically every time if you want a shot at deathless (7-19x - fuck you still, I hate you to this day)

@@iluxa-4000 Yeah, I understood what level you are talking about without even turn the game on, it also grinded my nerves (7-19x). First game lauch dec 2014, golden god (100%) jan 2015 (keyboard btw). 3 years (first gamepad run, had to learn all again) after I've found that I could run deathless worlds to make an achievement and completed Hospital dark world, Hell and the End world without dying. So not even 3rd dark world finished without deaths. May be I'll try to complete the whole worlds some day, but that's madness, even with pause screen.

@@IceEscapeEasy I'm also a keyboard player :) and I really didn't even think that I would be able to do it, but then I started grinding and grinding, and managed to get them all. It is probably my proudest moment of gaming lul About the pause screen - I've seen a lot of people say "ah, you can just quit to the menu, shit is easy". But in the absolute majority of levels you won't have time to quit to the menu, you die in half a second. And even then - you still need to beat everything without messing up

Jokes aside, I’m also a keyboard player, though I haven’t gotten all cheevos, yet. :/ I play on-and-off, though, so each time I pick it back up I have to retrain my muscle memory, which is kinda difficult when you’re trying to do a dark rapture no-death-run, haha. (Seriously though, whose idea was it to make those franken-meatboy-thingies have their range detemined by RNG? And why do they only *sometimes* jump when I jump? It’s horrible D:)

29:08 damn, flywrench is my favorite character. I played most of the game as them lol. It takes some getting used to, but when you do it feels like you can fly through levels. I also like how their wall jump stays on walls

Wow, this was dedication. I’m currently trying to 100% this on both XBox and Steam and it is complete and utter HELL. Subscribed :D (Also, to cement the Flywrench hate, more people have the Steam achievement for beating the game than for unlocking Flywrench lol)

The true hardest achievements are in the PS4 (and Steam) version, where you must beat each world without dying. The one for beating the cotton alley dark world without dying is only 0.37% (As opposed to 3% for Golden God in this video) Maybe a follow up video for the Platinum Trophy? ;) Also this is a great video on one of my favourite games.

On level 2-18, once you've picked up the bandage you can actually go back into the vent system and follow it to the left which takes you out right above bandage girl :) I hope this save some people time!

God this was like a fun little trip through the game. I had a lot of fun doing meat boy 100%. You should try and play back those levels you beat with The Kid with Meat Boy. They're hard but rewarding

Fun Fact: If you got the game on steam, then you can put the game on window mode and click and hold on the window. The game freezes BUT you can move around. This is the glitch called "Time Freeze" (creative name I know) Since the game is frozen but Meat Boy isn't (gameplay not visually so it makes it kinda hard) you can walk through walls and WALK ON AIR. This can be helpful in the wa- *ahem* This can be helpful in the WAAARP ZOOOOOONEs.

You should do all the no death world runs too :-). I have one of the very first cotton alley dark world runs posted to KZfaq! It's pretty much my only claim to fame around here. That and some gnarly Ori and the Blind Forest trickery. Keep up the cool achievement hunting, it's a great way to enjoy games!
