Chalamet is a great cast for Paul, the description of Paul in the books is pretty much what Chalamet looks like.

I remember seeing Leprechaun in the Hood when I was younger. I had no idea the one before it was even more insane of a premise lol

Leprechaun 4 In Space (and the entire series, since it apparently pivoted to Horror/Comedy really early) comes out in a similar time to things like Scary Movie. I can definitely see elements of the directors kind of riffing on tropes and it just keeps escalating.

Really fun episode today boiks. Also, Dune: Spice Wars sounds like the exact game you want Smaffy, it's a 4X RTS.

For some reason the lighting makes it seem like Ross is copied and pasted on to the set when the centre camera is in focus.

“If a writer publishes any thing that attracts notice, and is in itself just, but does not accord with our plan, we must endeavour to win him over, or decry him.” - Adam Weishaupt The ideas are not new, they are reborn in each era, it's the system that changes, the tools and institutions. The greatest trick is getting the world to believe you don't exist, this is why such an emphasis spotlight on the most ridiculous of "conspiracy theories" has been a standing order of news publishers. Hugely reducing the chance anyone would be willing to entertain the possibility of any legitimate conspiracies. This is further punctuated by our persecution of justified whistleblowers, like Edward Snowden. Everything he helped expose about surveillance of US citizens was found in court to be illegal, and officially now disallowed, however he remains a fugitive with any US President willing to silence him to secret prison forever if he is ever within reasonable reach of apprehending. I try not to fear for what is to come, that perhaps those who have the reigns of global power are just and reasonable, but blind faith makes for poor solace...

Thank you, Smaffy. I remember getting Emperor: Battle for Dune on a demo disk in the 90s when my family got our first computer and playing it a lot. Never found out the name until I looked it up since it sounded familiar. Tons of nostalgia started filling in once I saw the screenshots.

Shogun is based on a book that is based on history. The history is really more interesting than the show is. Blackthorne is based on WIlliam Adams although William Adams never met the translator that Mariko is based on named Hosokawa Gracia, and Toranaga is based on Tokugawa Ieyasu who was actually vying for power against the council.

So I hated the first Dune movie (modern one) so much that I'm not even bothering to watch the second one. I really don't see what others see in that movie, it was just so boring. I did seriously want to like it as the world interested me. But it was a snore fest.
