The long grind of the football season is almost over. There are two teams remaining in the great quest for the Super Bowl, but it doesn't mean the wheels of momentum stop for the rest of the league. For eighteen franchises, their seasons have been over for about a month or so. New coaches and managers are being hired, players are retiring or leaving for other pastures, and the course of their future will be dictated or changing course entirely. This is the NFL Debriefing, and may those that failed miserably (or failed in less miserable fashion) be remembered for their deeds during the year. Or should I say lack thereof?

Poor Derek Carr, man. His 2016 season where he had the Raiders at 12-3, were thought of as a potential SB contender, and Carr himself had a excellent season, with a TD-INT difference of 4.7-1. Then he tore his ACL and the team hasn't been the same. I hope where ever he goes, he gets a shot at glory

As a Vikings fan, I have absolutely no way to explain this season and absolutely no idea what it presages for the future. It was insane and unique. Will KOC and Kwesi succeed long-term? Honestly, as a falcons fan, I was pleased with how the season went. Yes there were games that we blew, but the majority of us were expecting the team to be completely non competitive this season. Instead we actually have something to build on. Our offensive line is blossoming into a top unit anchored by Chris Lindstrom. We have a future premier back in Tyler Allgiers with solid depth in Caleb Huntley. Drake London and Kyle Pitts make for a foundation to a good wr room and while the defense is devoid of talent, AJ Terrell and Grady Jarrett are still excellent, there is promising youth in Anderson, Ebekite and Malone, a new defensive coordinator in Ryan Nielsen and we have $80 million in cap space right now with additional space that will be made available after some restructuring. Which means we can get the much needed talent and depth on defense to make the unit a formidable unit. The big questions are, what moves do we make in the draft and what are we doing at QB. Do we roll with Ridder, do we go for another stop gap, do we push after someone like Lamar or do we have someone like CJ Stroud fall into our laps. It will be interesting few years ahead for us.

Fun speculation: does anyone think that Aaron _Rodgers_ would have scored less than 19 point s a game in those losses? Because the Packers wanted him out _last_ season, would almost have paid Denver to *take him* off their hands, would have cost WAY less than Russ in $, trades _AND_ draft capital, had a coach that would have let Rodgers call plays & treated him well, would have contended immediately & been capable of beating the Chiefs with their D & HOF QB... & most of all, would _NOT HAVE_ trotted off the field in Week One & begged the HC to please kick a FG instead of making him try & save this game from being a loss, let alone also then beg that HC to say it was "his decision" when clearly the FG unit was _NOT called for _*_before_*_ Russ asked him to do that! Win, Win, Win, for the Packers, Broncos & less so for the Seahawks, but let's face it, even _*_with_*_ what they got, they almost missed the playoffs, so who _cares?_ Let's see if the Broncos can trade Wilson for Carr. I don't think either team would contend, but it would just make both teams MORE fun to laugh at! I think Aaron Rodgers can make the Jets or Commanders contend right away.

We were way over the cap last year but they almost landed Watson but he decided at last minute to go to Browns. Thank the gods we didn't go that route. Thanks for the videos Tree you're truly one of if not THE best.

The Broncos have one of the worst situations I’ve ever seen from an NFL team. They are locked in to a QB that fell off a cliff, they shelled out for a coach that’s probably past his prime, they have zero picks, and they’re stuck in a division with Mahomes and Herbert for the next 10 years. I feel bad for Perna. Just when he thought he was free, the Broncos sink even further.

honestly with the state of the team, my saints did pretty good we were a few field goals from the playoffs, and many of our losses could have been reversed with a couple more good offensive decisions it’s not the best situation, but considering a lot of the other worst teams in the nfl, we’re not in the worst shape. we’ll be back to decent shape in a couple years. and it’s especially funny considering how hard you’ve been on us considering the situation at caronlina, green bay, baltimore, denver, and atlanta.

As a Pats fan, our offense may suck in general. But hey, having 6 rings ain't too bad and if Mac and/or Bailey can get some actual help (both by making short-term trades that actually make sense and long-term drafties who can get used and properly grow up to the Patriot Way), he can blossom to be pretty good. Nothing like Brady, but c'mon. Trying to carry the torch for someone like him is basically impossible to get used to for any QB.

They're gonna have to work extra hard next season. Who do you see _improving?_ Not just a little bit, but enough to have contended this year? The Chargers? The other two non-playoff AFC West teams? The Dolphins? Jets? Patriots? Ravens? (actually...) Steelers? No, thanks to Matt Patri - -uhh, Canada. Not the Browns. Cincy would be lucky to get this lucky a third year. The Jags? NFC: Eagles can only hope to maintain what made them win this season. Giants aren't gonna repeat this amount of luck, _NO_ way! Howell works out or they get Carr or Rodgers, the Commanders make the playoffs. Dallas? They're TOTALLY effed. NFC South: the only team that wouldn't go 1 & out in the playoffs if they got Rodgers would be the Saints from _this_ season, not next. BFC North: the Packers, maybe. (People are speaking of the Lions in a way that makes it feel as if they KNOW they're wishing). The Rams? Maybe win six games? Seattle? Smith's comeback was a good _story,_ but he got tired mid-way through the season & *stayed* tired. Arizona will be lucky to win three next season. So: maybe the Ravens now that Greg Roman is fired (but the people who *paid him $ to undermine the entire team's success* kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ftF-o72p1p6Ufmg.html are still there), the Patriots will put us all to sleep with their systematic boring play, & the Packers might do more with Love than anticipated. Yeah, & the 49ers. Four teams next season may be interesting _on_ the field. At best. You realize that if Aaron *Rodgers* had gone to Denver this past season instead of Russ they would have made the playoffs? NO _WAY_ Rodgers doesn't score 18+ points in eight of those first games they lost because the Broncos _didn't._ Ginormous missed opportunity.

Tomlin hasn't made a pact with devil, he just manages to keep enough of players engaged and 'believing ' such that he has never had a losing season. Thus, he is the GOAT of motivational coaches; although his tactical prowess is average and relies more on intuition. With 20/20 hindsight, the production he got out of AB before Brown lost all sense of his place in the Space-Time Continuum demonstrates how well Tomlin deals with player's egos.

Let the Rams and the Buccaneers be a lesson in how *NOT* to build a team. Sure, both of them have won a ring in the 2020s, but the aftermath is going to crater these teams. If Brady is actually retiring this time around, there will be a new leader in the NFC South. Sure, the Bucs have some talented players, but they are about to face futility for the foreseeable future. Whether that be playoff futility or straight-up mediocrity remains to be seen, but the Bucs won’t be a Super Bowl contender for a while. And the Rams? That team, if their core doesn’t retire this offseason, has at most a few more years with them, and they likely won’t get another ring. And when their core retires, they’ll be in the shitter faster than you can say “Fuck Stan Kroenke”. Compare this to, say, the Chiefs, the Bills, or the Bengals. Both KC and Cincy came up just short of Lombardi, and the Bills haven’t quite made it to the Super Bowl yet, but they’re gonna be contenders for years to come, especially the Chiefs. And that’s because these teams are building their contenders, not stripping veteran players from other teams to become a one-ring-wonder. KC has a couple more Super Bowl appearances at least (and they have a ring), Cincy is in a good position to finally get their first ring, and the Bills have a good shot at making the Super Bowl, and possibly even winning their first Lombardi, as well. The Bucs are done, as are the Rams, most likely.

Nice to see the Pegula's and Mike Brown doing well for once in their miserable lives! Looks like flaky L.A. will only be supporting the Kings and Dodgers for the forseeable future now that the Lakers and Rams suck again. Flaky Tampa is lucky that the Bucs are safe from relocation, with them losing the XFL's Vipers to Las Vegas AND the USFL's Bandits to Memphis (renamed to Showboats thankfully unlike the Vipers) recently. Should have watched Bandit games last season. Instead, they get to watch the return of the "Culverhouse" era Bucs again!

Trading AJ Brown was indeed just the final straw for Jon Robinson tenure with the Titans. He did it behind the back of Vrabel and Amy Adams Strunk. But he also had a terrible record in first rounds and brought lots of injury prone players. Remember Jadeveon Clowney and Vic Beasley? The guy went from "In JRob we trust" to fired in less than one season. That was a spetacular fall. Can't say the Titans are looking for "Yes Man" to Vrabel though. They were aiming to bring Matt Nagy or Eric Bienemy to the OC position, but that didn't work. But it is indeed a limbo where the Titans lie now. We all know the celing of Tannehill and doubts loom Malik Willis. We don't know how much Henry has left in the tank. Weird times.
