-On March 25th 2022 Ventura County Fire Department responded to a two story single family dwelling working fire. The fire was located on the 2nd floor of the B/C side of the structure. This Video is for training purposes only. The Video contains the initial dispatch and video response to the fire along with helmet cam video from the engineers perspective and some drone video during the incident. Command and Tactical traffic of the incident is captured from dispatch to knock down of fire in real time, approximately 23 minutes from start to finish. The first few minutes of the video provides you with the Importance of a on-scene radio report, fire ground responsibilities to each company responding, and size-up of conditions from the first due Company Officer. The first due Company Officer will also provide tactical objective for his crew in the cab of the fire engine before exiting. It is essential for fire ground accountability as well as fire ground Command and Control. I believe this video is a great example of it all.

That's one hell of a firefighting Engineer! Hand laying his supply, getting two lines flowing, throwing a 20 or 24' ext. And the 10' for the garage, plus an exposure line. Truck has additional ladders for escape. Standard! I'm impressed. Outstanding! Great job. I'm a 24+ year engineer with the LAFD!

Whoever the engineer is on Engine 136 great job!!! You're the epitamy of what a great engineer is. As a former volunteer firefighter my hats too you. Great job getting that water established and keeping the pressure up on those lines. I like the grease pencil idea.

That is impressive driving skills at the beginning. Those engines are monsters and heavy. It's the little details that make a really good engineer. I agree the idea of using a grease pencil on the gauges is brilliantly simple.

Great example of a well organized fire attack and successful suppression of the fire. The entire operation was a display of just how well trained the VCFD firefighters are.

Get videos 👍🏽 outstanding work just have 3 suggestions 1 Layin or have someone laying into you, 2 gloves 🧤 when touch the cylinders, 3 ladders ladders ladders 🪜 that house definitely make sure of it as more guys arrive you did outstanding but every possible window should have a ladder. Hope to see hella videos it was how it should be done from start to finish

At the minimum just reverse lay and leave the engine down the street.

With a 3 man crew. You're now leaving a guy down the street at the hydrant, and thus delaying getting water on the fire. Can do a lot of damage with 500 gallons.

@AJ nope! Wrap it and get back on. All the crew gets to the scene, and now you have lots of options because the hose is already on the street. The driver, a cop, the ambulance crew, or any number of other personnel can make the hook up and send water or another engine can pump it. It's far better to have the hose in the street and not need it than realize that 500 gal ISNT enough and now you need to hand jack back to the plug which will take FAR longer than just clearing the bed and hooking the plug. We should ALWAYS be one step ahead of the fire and planning for where it will be, not where it is or where we would like it to be.

You have 500 gallons(assumed) on your engine. With an engine that gets to the scene faster to get water on the fire is making a more efficient fire attack. I have a 3 person crew on my engine. Second engine lay or be a nurse engine. But with these districts with hydrants roughly 150 to 300 feet, water isn't a problem. This was the right tactic. On a second note, great direction from the officer to thw firefighters. Clear and concise instructions.

I am watching from Elmira NY. The Elmira Fire department puts water on the fire as soon as they arrive at the schene and get out of their trucks

Yeah. I showed this flick to the guys at station 228 in 37 st brooklyn. There opinion. Yeah the shouffer uses the grease pen too. But that fire there transmitting 2nd alarm easy.

Try battling a 8 alarm fire in a 280× 260 7 floor tenement apartment in new York's harlem. 5 6 7 floors burning and roof in 50 mph wind gusts. Fire held to the 3 floors. Now that's good engineering.

Don’t be that guy who thinks his department is the shit and everyone owes you something. There will always be someone better than you. What gets me where is the police to block off both ends of street ,I seen 2 or 3 cars drive through the fire Scene . The town I live in Morton Illinois our police are there first all the time block off the street to keep people in their cars from coming through. The vehicles they let in are the emergency vehicles. Most of the videos I see on KZfaq there are no cops there to redirect traffic away from the fire scene . Shouldn't the police be there first to keep the fire scene clear so the emergency can get to the fire scene to fight the fire !!

All the VC crews seem to be on the ball - to the ME 136 Eng - may I suggest that once ops are stable, take your GoPro and clip it to your engine? The constant herky-jerky motion is enough to induce migraines and even seizures depending on the viewer... Thanks...

A lot of people like the first person view, And if people have seizures watching herky jerky videos then maybe they shouldn't be watching them. Plus alot of videos have herky jerky videos on here.

Now this house fire would have been knocked down and out in the city if New York. 2nd alarm 80 firefighters using 2 1/2 inch hose. Maybe even 3 inch hose.

FDNY would have had 10 engines 2 ladders and 4 tower ladders and probably called a 5th alarm by now
