This is a guide on the best healer in GW2.
The heal tempest has incredible heals, boons and utility. Not only that it can extend boons.
This class has even seen play in CM fractals recently and is a obvious choice for raids.
Heal tempest shines in all group content and if playing a hybrid can also have a easy time on landscape.

Runes and Relic can go Monk, if you are feeling spicy you can try mabon's relic for the dps/heal hybrid

As an elementalist main I find this so helpful and informative. The clarity and depth of your insights on the different aspects of heal-support tempest gameplay (traits, weapon skills, utilities and the interactions between them vis a vis the game mode they are used) is spot on. Again thank you for your build explained videos. I play all classes for different roles but since I don't main most of them what happens is that I know how to play them but I lack a true understanding of why it works. Which of course effects performance.

Sometimes I join T4 frac pugs that are looking for heals/alac on my Tempest and people are like "...ugh, an ele?" And then by the end of the first one they're totally on board. I just love how crazy versatile the elementalist is, and it's so fun to play.

@@HeIIaAverage depends, I would say for PUGs Heal Brand is always on the top shelf. Some people like Heal Alac Mech and some people only want Heal Heralds for CM100. But HB is the king of PUG fractals and always has been.

I love heal tempest and it's my most played class by far. I remember when it gave alac only after successfully completing the overload, it felt so bad back then being a spinning duck for 4 seconds and having to dodge out at the last moment to have no alac at all. Also, I cannot say how much I love Rebound. You won't be using it much often but I've saved countless Deimos pugs with it. Ice elemental is also very underrated, huge burst healing with extra knock back cc and pretty long duration. The biggest thing tempest lacks right now is the alac aoe. Fire overload only has 180 range and the rest 240 while some other boon classes like qherald and alacsworn has a casual 600. It also makes tanking very difficult in some fights since a lot of the time, everyone is gonna be behind the boss or across you. Q2 is probably a good example.

I agree, the old heal alac Tempest was too hard to pull off for newer players. However the alacrity that overload generates is 360 radius, have a look at the lucid singularity trait, so do not feel to scared on stacking, they might not all get the might etc but they will get the alacrity

@@alcapitianmight and fury is not such a big deal anymore because many dps specs just throw those offensive boons out randomly with the current meta which makes the job of the supports much easier Its not the old meta anymore where we needed to provide absolutely everything ^^ And might and fury is quality wise indifferent to stats (except boon duration ofc) so its perfectly fine for dps to generate those boons Regen and especially prot from us is a completely different story but those boons from us are prioritised anyway so its fine

Great content! I plan to run support tempest purely for WvW. I’m thinking of making a pure heal focused backline support. Do you have any tips on how to achieve this?

That was what I played primarily in wvw, I would go staff, arcane sheild is a ok choice, funny enough I used to use arcane blast for aoe tapping... just being in water and auto attacking and allowing soothing mist to heal is super good. Try focus on condition cleanse as well and spam your overloads on the zerg or catas/trebs so that they have lots of alacrity

Id say druid for utility, this for easier healing and boons. I was stunned when making this guide how easy healing was.

Both are not exactly low intensity and easy healers Most healers are not and people who want easier roles the better stay a bit away from defensive supports ^^ But in my opinion the strongest easy healer with a lower entry level is herald (is quick)

The pure heal output of magi with staff is really strong but if you want to give the boons playing celestial is really strong, this also will alow you to do some dmg, heals and good boon uptime

Why not use Plaguedoctor's armor? Will pistol has any affect to this build?

in Plague doctors the concentration is a minor stat so you will drop a lot of boon duration... it's not a bad armour choice at all but usually the harriers and minstrels are better for needed stats... but you could by all means do it and as for the pistol, I haven't looked at the new weapons yet, because I think they'll probably change a few things based on feedback, i will check it out properly when they lock down what they will do... hope this helps mate

Is a boonduration of 97% a big deal or should i try to come down to the 95% to get better stats on other attributes?

Even with several magi pieces you should get 100% boon duration super easy with food etc. But you definitely don't have to worry about 2% boon duration. The only reason you want to run high boon duration is to help with might uptime and loosen up your alacrity timing, so that you have more time to do other things.

I have one more question about the frostbow. So if i conjure the frostbow do i aim at my teammatws with the autoattack like one can do with the staff or can the bow only target enemies? @@alcapitian

For any group play, open world, metas and raids... it is beyond good. It is good for solo play if you use celestial stats and go for the more damaging traits

i'm very curious about the 'tanking' aspect of tempest that you mentioned. what does that mean and how do you do it?

So most tanking in gw2 is just toughness or proximity based. As Tempest you'll use dodges and your aftershock for blocks, rebound if your group fails a mechanic. But your stronger protection and amazing healing usually means that you can eat some mechanics and still just heal through it

No not at all, Elementalist can only use 1 weapon set at a time. In combat your weapon switch button is locked

@@rayefoo7563 well... it's not PUG very friendly, HB and even HAM seem to preform well in PUGS but it's good enough to do the content easily... let's put it this way, some groups don't even use healers so having one is never bad
