Age of Union

2 жыл бұрын

In a remote corner of the Peruvian Amazon, a small startup non-profit of local and international conservationists, Junglekeepers, come together to protect an area of rainforest the size of Rhode Island. Age of Union, inspired by the passionate individuals involved, is dedicated to seeing Junglekeepers succeed in their mission to create a wildlife corridor along the Las Piedras River.
On the ground, Age of Union founder Dax Dasilva bears witness to scenes that force him to question whether the damage we have done to the planet is beyond repair, and tests his belief that anyone can change the world. In the end, the people and their passion to protect this vital swath of dense rainforest, remind all of us that there is hope where there is heart and action.

I hope the ranger station can help the forest, even that little baby boa is saved so that is a great outcome. I am worried about the safety of those rangers, I guess some people doing illegal deforestation could be dangerous. Hope that they are safe and thanks for the work they are doing it is vital for all humanity, protecting the lungs of the earth. Sending a lot of love.

what if we could program thousands of automated drones to patrol the forest, potentially with machine learning algorithms, they could be trained to detect and report suspected threats and return to base for recharging, they could also have the capacity to retrieve other drones that get damaged or go offline.. it would be like a synthetic swarm within the forest ecosystem

Thank you for being well intended. But all these drones, these algorithms, this machine learning, all this surveillance, would kill several major things, independence, freedom, spirits. We would create more persons darkened by the indiscreet technology that both helps us and makes us into slaves, and we have to do better than that. Even with good intentions, using all this would kill something. How about face recognition, too? Personally, and respectfully, we can seek other means, and thus avoid bringing in the Stasi. Thank you

Honestly until you get people in politics on your side you are doomed to an uphill battle. Get people from your side into politics and start the change and support necessary.
