"That's so fucked." is just what cyberpunk is, the whole genre of it. All about being dark, no one lives a good life in a cyberpunk world unless you're in the 'nobility' of the world.

In Saburo's apartment, across the big TV, you can see the iguana that nomad V and Jackie smuggled from the Nomad prologue. You can even loot an iguana egg from there which will hatch into your own iguana pet in your room

Johnny's ... "ghost" can't actually physically touch you or anything else for that matter, but like we see with V bashing her head against the window, Johnny can at times partially control your body. So him "slapping" the meds out of your hand is more of just a visual representation of that happening.

Hearing V on the verge of tears when they're told they're going to die is haunting. Both male and female V have great voice actors.

That scene where Smasher just RUNS into a moving car and IT is the one that gives way is so fucking scary. This is how you set up a cyborg-boogeyman

The sequence from the heist and to the end of act 1 is so intense, cinematic and intriguing that it never seizes to amaze me, even on consecutive playthroughs. And so many things happen! Definitely one of my favourite story setups. Great episode, Mapo! Can't wait for the next ones!

The story is absolutely incredible. Phantom Liberty takes it up a notch.

Female V's voice acrtress is so fuckin good. The way she says "See you in the major leagues, Jack" is so good. I'm glad you decided to go with female V. Also, I'm still kinda pissed they spoiled all of this in the trailer. Kinda dumb.

I like that even though you saw Jackie died in the trailer you still held out hope it could change cuz of how awesome he was. We all feel the pain losing jackie.

Crazy part about Jackie is that I saw it coming and barely even knew the guy, but I still cried the first time. It's a really well done scene.

I'm just so happy you are experiencing this game now, Mapo, and approaching its characters and the world with that much care and attention it deserves.

It's clear by the trailer that we were supposed to play those 6 months at the beginning in the intro. V is also using mid game cyberwear such as the Mantis Blades. It would also make more sense for the duo to climb up their way in the ladder until they get to Dexter, which is supposed to be a high ranking fixer, not someone that deals with rookies.

Throwing weapons and blades are hella fun. Easy to build around, too, since Reflex and Cool are both pretty useful attributes in general.

If you have one of the abilities, you will see that Adam smasher actually does see you. That’s why he is staring at you the whole time…

Mapo try and use your scanner more to zoom in on people not just zooming with basic eyes. You can get a lot of information for roleplay and dialogue. In the hotel in the first room if you scanned the guests you would have seen the mayor making a shady deal

I've never used the throwing knife, I'm built in a way where I could make full use of it though, so I might check it out now. Looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

You left Satori at the apartment. At 45:00 you still had time to load an autosave and go get it. It is made to work in tandem with Nehan by equipping both and quick-switching. Both belonged to Saburo. You don't need to collect the knife, it will return to you by itself. After you throw it, the circle on the screen shows when it will return to you. Weapons and items with a circuit-plate design on their label are iconic, and you cannot dismantle them. You may be able to sell them by mistake though, so be careful. If you want to keep your inventory clean, send them to your stash. Get accustomed with the crafting menu. It may be better, at least in the early stages, to dismantle items instead of selling them. This way you can craft and upgrade your own stuff at any time, including ammo if you find yourself empty. The game world is huge, and full to the brim with sidequests and activities. If you enjoyed the ride and want to keep the momentum, then focus on the story. Otherwise the world is yours for the taking.

Jacky, for me, is one of the best characters in the game even if we only spend a few hours with him. He lives rent free in my memory bank.

Kind of spoilers. I don't think it is but I'm gonna be cautious: Adam Smasher *might* know you're there. Beyond the fact he is directly staring at you the entire scene with the Arasakas, there used to be a piece of cyberware that would highlight enemies who were aware of your presence in red... and it would trigger on him It was probably a bug rather than an intended thing... but it sure as hell has a chilling level of character building to it

Jackie is probably my favorite character. The other friends you make are pretty great, but none of them are quite like Jackie. Viktor is a close second for me.

I think my absolute favorite part of any first-time plays is the reaction the The Heist.

Saburo's reason to upload Johnny's engram was the whole point of Saburo's monologue to Johnny. He states that people lie to the point of convincing themselves, but not the dead, stating that the dead are loud but not in the habit of lying and that he finds it humbling to listen to the dead speak. He had Johnny's Engram created for the purpose of interrogating it as to whatever information he wants about the bombing of the tower.

Love how you dive into the lore! I did 6 complete playthroughs, 100% achivements on Steam (I am Edgerunner since the book rpg back on 90s), moded game every possible way and yet your way of playing shows me new stuff I can re-live. Great!

FWIW The Satori blade is found in Saburu's flying vehcile that is parked on the roof above Yorinobu's apartment. You can only get there after Yorinobu kills his father. You know what is worse than Johnny being on the relic. If it was Jackie instead. Knowing that a strange personality is going to overwrite your existance, is one thing. But having a friend's personality might be much worse. Especially when the people around you might have different ideas to which personality they'd rather have survive. Perhaps that was the original intent until they got Keanu

In fairness, even if I hadn't seen the trailer, the fatality that was spoiled in it was hardly surprising from a narrative perspective. There were so many blatant death flags in his dialogue, laid on so thick, that it would've been more of a clever subversion if it didn't happen at all. They also then would've had to figure out how to either write him in (or not) for virtually ever major mission thereafter, and probably implement it both ways.

Fun fact: There is a cyberware that allows you to know which enemies know your presence. If used during the Saburo scene, it shows that ADAM SMASHER KNOWS WE ARE HIDING IN THE PILLAR.

Oh man what I would give to experience CP2077 again. The story is phenomenal. Enjoy this playthrough Mapocolops, you won't forget it.

As someone who works in game dev I have "love/hate" relationship with your type of gameplay. On one hand I love it that you appreciate all the "background", a lot of people work hard to put it in games where majority of players do not give a fuck or even notice but on the other hand I'm very aware of technical limitations when you linger just a bit too long and see those issues.

The scene of an AI just casually asking how you want to dispose of your friend's body always gets me. I guess I'm impressionable like that, but Jackie's death hit me hard. Never thought of him as an "intro npc". And yeah, all prologue mission descriptions are written by Jackie. SPOILERS to The Witcher Which is in fashion, since entries to quests and characters in TW series were also written by Geralt's closest friend.

Such a great episode! It's great that the latest patch is out & hopefully you didn't have to experience the melee finisher bug. It looks like you may go for a knife/katana biuld & I'm here for it. One of my favorite builds regardless of what kind of operating system you use. Looking forward to the next episode.

I think it's great that you're so thorough - because I am too - but every time you chill out in an extreme action situation looking at every poster (that you'll see 1000 more times), or when you jump and crawl like a mental patient in front of Hideo Oshima so you can look at his face from 5mm away, ... it makes me realize every time that I'm not watching someone living through a role in an awesome sci-fi reality, but an old man just playing a game. It's the absolute annihilation of immersion.

Great to see you discovering the fun that is throwing knives. Pair that with Kerenzikov and it's a really fun weapon to build your character around.

Phantom Liberty was definitely selected because it was next up in your quests and you're in a kind of in-between state of the next quest, it's not related to the interlude

Like with Jackie's death, I wish that an RPG like Cyberpunk would let you thread even the tiniest of needles for a different outcome, like "get from the top floor to the bottom in 5 mins" or something, but I guess in the end it's about development ressources.

I just want to say that the female V voice actor is really good. Its segments like this that really show it. When V wakes up after being shot and has to confront what's happening to her the reaction is so real. Not to put down Gavin Drea but Cherami Leigh just has that something extra that connected with me.

It's fun to see you react to this blind, so I want to avoid spoiling anything for you. And pretty much everything I wanted to clarify that you asked in this episode kind of got clarified later on, but I guess I'll mention a few things you missed. During the heist, after T-bug dies, you can actually go up on the roof to get a unique weapon, which I think is the one the dagger references. There's also an easily missable Iguana egg in the room, near the tree plantation by the door. You can't go back there now, for obvious reasons, but there is a glitch where you can still get, if you want to. But you need a different car and the double-jump cyberware, so if you remember by that time, let us know and someone can tell you how to execute the glitch if you want these items. Or you can grab them on a separate playthrough, of course. You aren't the only one saddened by the fact that you couldn't save Jackie, I think from a certain crowd that still played this game on its buggy release was the people willing to overlook those flaws were the ones excited for a branching narrative. Sadly, it isn't quite all that branching, but there's a handful of endings and secret endings you can get that depends on choices you make during certain missions. I hope you will not mind them being pointed out, because they are numerous and you likely won't remember all of them. But they make multiple playthroughs a bit rewarding as well. For instance, in this episode you made one choice that will affect one of the ending in a way where it will not show you something incredibly sad.

I'm loving this playthrough so far! I highly recommend using katanas when you're playing this because they are so much fun lol!

Rogue can afford to look good. They mentioned Hanako Arasaka to be born in 99 which makes her almost 80 and iirc she's younger then Yorinobu, but he looks his 30s.

Bruh, 3 throwing knives plus Sandevistan is literally my favorite build in this game after 1800 hours. The return time on them works out perfectly so you almost always have one return by the time you throw out the other 2. I love playing knife sniper and literally throwing a knife across the map from so far away I can take out an actual sniper with a headshot and no one even knows I'm there, sooo satisfying to drop a whole hoard of baddies stealthy with nothing but throwing knives.

This is funny, because for the Phantom Liberty they made actually prequel trailler, so you can watch it (or atleast later, trailer can provide some context)

I believe Arasaka planned a different use for it. - Johnny was just a random person they had saved and used for a test run. The real application - as far as I would guess - would be to copy a living person on a shard - and then if that person dies - they could take over someones elses body. Basicly Immortality.

If you click triangle twice when unequipped V will take out his weapon in that special way he also does with new weapons. Especially cool with Katanas :D
