This stream will be a little different. Instead of playing my old Hammond B3 I'll be playing one of Hammond's newest products, the SkxPRO! I have borrowed it for a while, gotten to know it so I thought it would be fun do also do a stream with it. But to be clear, this not an official Hammond demo, just me having fun. There'll be a wide range of sounds and styles. Well, you know how it usually is. Come and join the HQ Hammond family!

been playing organ for more than 50 years and love to see pedalboards still being used so well. Great playing. Thinking of replacing my aging YamEL900 with a SKXPro .. have Nord Stage 3 that sits on top of the Yam but this sounds awesome.

Hi Andreas, I’m considering buying a Hammond M3 which has been professionally split. The only thing is there are no pedals! What’s the best way forward? Do all pedals have to be midi with a module, or are there set of pedals that are independent?

So I’m a new Hammond player. Picked up an skx pro a couple weeks ago, been practicing like crazy… do you do any online lessons or anything? You’re insanely talented I bet I could learn a lot from you. I can of course pay and I probably wouldn’t need too many lessons. Hope to hear from you :)

Hi! Thank you so much! I have done some online teaching, but not on a regular basis. Though, I should mention that I don't own an SkxPRO. I just borrowed this one for the video. I mostly play the Hammond XK5 or B3.

Hi, great playing! Saxophonist here; Hammond organ was my first instrument. I just watched your Bluesette short on the XK-5 - and the robot fed me this, so shorts work, apparently. FOR ORGAN, do you thank that that 65 pound beast is worth it? Twice the money of the SK-Pro, too. Everybody says the SK-Pro's acoustic pianos are no good but the S&H lower manual playing sounds fine here. I can see now how the versatility would come in handy. Not a lot of videos of people actually PLAYING this thing; mostly just talking or a few licks. I was offered a gig on tenor years ago with the Mighty Burner himself, Charles Earland, but I had to turn it down as my mom was sick then. I played with a lot of organ trios in my native Detroit (on sax). What pedal board is that? It doesn't look like Hammond's.... I'm in LA, Cali. @@JC-td4gg Yes, I also had it connected to a PA system in the room. But the sound you're hearing in the clip is straight from the organ.

Fantastic. True inspiration to spend more time on organ and also the foot pedals. Watching after the fact, but have you on All Notifications and maybe can get lucky with timing for another live stream. (What stand is that? My K&M 18820 is rock solid, breaks down easy, but if I add another board in my Saab😊 with another 18820, hmm. Is the one you're using the K&M 18950? A strange user comment on Sweetwater re that one in conjunction to Hammond SKX Pro feet diameter; anyone? I'm considering adding (update, have added) the SKX Pro to my kit, alongside Crumar Mojo Classic which sits on the aforementioned 18820. Sorry for the tech talk, but can't hurt to toss onto the internet.) Meanwhile and more importantly, killer playing!! 🎹

Thank you! I think the stand I'm using in this video was given to me, and I don't really know the brand or model. It worked quite well with the Skx but it's not very stable. Don't mind tech talk at all. Thanks for tuning in!

Hi! Sorry for the late reply! Regarding the stand - I don't remember what it's called or what brand it is. Got it a long time ago. But it's just a general keyboard stand. Same for the bench. Got it a long time ago. Though - regarding the rhythm unit - it's an app on my iPad called DrumGenius. Thanks for watching!

The reason I asked is because I own a brand new SKX Pro and was struggling to find the right height for a bench and stand because of the pedalboard requirement. Found them: Liquid Stands Piano Bench Adjustable Stool and Liquid Stands Collapsible Piano Keyboard Stand. They work great! Now my only struggle is getting decent pedal volume. It's so low as to be almost unnoticeable. Blessings on your fingers, feet, and BRAIN!!!!!!🙏👋🦶🧠🙏

I have a question? I have a Roland JV1010 and I use only the Organs on my 60s and 70s keyboards expansion board SRJV08 and the Hammonds in my opinion are wonderful. I use a vent 2 with it and some of the Rhodes pianos too... what your opinion?

Just got my organ in. I know the foot bass is connected thru MIDI. Do you use MIDI from the bass pedals to connect to the bass sounds I hear?

Just saw Jim Alfredson review and all you have to do is select the bass sounds in ensemble and hit the pedal and the ensemble allocation button at the same time and walla, the bass is on the pedal. You can control the volume with the amp and you turn off the bass drwbars unless youwant to add to the bass sound.

May I suggest these MIdi pedals as they are just like the original Hammond pedals, same feel and adusting and very well made. I have these with my SKX Pro and love them. On eBay Midi Organ Pedal board 20 note controller.
