Today, we'll take a look at a knife that's big and beefy, but really exceptionally machined, with some amazing details: the Herman Knives Dragonfly (here provided by polishcustomknives.com/).

Mr. Herman is a gifted craftsman. Metal-art to the extreme. Hat's off to you sir, where ever you are. That thing's a wall-hanger (nice).

I really like the aesthetics of this knife as well. I love the polished screw heads (like on some Begg knives). I'm even ok with his pivot screw as I would just toss his tool into my toolkit. He gets bonus points for captive pivot and I always wonder why I will keep buying knives without that feature!

Nice quality piece but my sweet spot for edc blades is around a 3.25" blade and around 2.5 OZ or less like my ZT 0450CFZDP or Bugout (I have Rogue Bladeworks CF scales) I really like my HatiOn ( got a good price) The Skaha in cf is also one of my favs. Nice review as usual.

The way this thing is built I can only assume that the pivot is designed for a specific torque. Reason for odd socket and wrench.

Mine came incredibly sharp, and before your review I felt the same way about the flipper 😕 I would love a Sting to compare it to...one day I suppose
@everydaybladesinc2 жыл бұрын
I just got mine and yesterday I love it. Also I guess they listen to you because they fix the pivot they still send it all but now you can use a torques bit also

just got a gen 2 dragonfly,same configuration to march my slim and sting ,rose gold anodised clip and backspacer and polished titanium,the dragonfly is my favourite of the 3 , mainly the action as the dragonfly blade is heavy so drops shut but in a controlled drop not like my Morpheus which is a 2022 knife or my Norseman,love this maker ,rask will be my next but noway am I paying the prices on the secondary when I can wait until my name is drawn and get a brand new one for retail

That's a sweet carry. If you're keeping it, mod the flipper tab. And get a custom pivot screw in your favorite flavor. Life's short - customize. 👍

Very nice review. It's appreciated. Btw, you don't miss a thing, do you? Love the intricate detail. Seems to be a really classy knife. Unfortunately we've got that 3.5 inch limit here. Maybe I'll get that other knife you call it's little brother. Thanks Nick!

Too many ..." Things" for 650 ,but I do like the looks and size. Fix the things and the price would be tolerable. Love that floating backspacer , and the blade jumping. Yeah , I want that.

It seems odd that a knife maker would name their knife the Dragonfly considering the existence of the Spyderco knife of the same name. I'm sure Spyderco isn't bothered but it is just really bizarre to me.

Herman began making a Dragonfly knife in 2016. I don't know when Spydrco started.
