I can see how the hero, no matter what, fights for his kindness. He tries with all his might to keep his heart and mind light, but evil slowly but rapidly spreads through his veins, his blood turns black, new powers and qualities appear, and anger grows. Gradually, the heart is filled with blackness. The hero recalls all the traumas brought to him by kind and light characters, with each memory the hero becomes angrier and overwhelmed by hatred. He's no longer struggling. He was tired. He wants revenge. He learns cunning, lie and strength. He won't stop anymore. He must take revenge. And when the last gleam of goodness fades in his eyes, and his heart turns black, he will never be the same again. He is evil in its purest form.

"Fine. You want me to be evil, then I'll be evil!" Lucy spat raising her arms up, as all the humanity left her eyes and the earth trembled under their feet. "What have we done?" Jess croaked as fear creped deep into her bones. "Unleashed Hell." Ezra breathed falling down to his knees as he watched the Lucy that he loved disappear and turn into a monster. And it was all their doing, the whole pack did this to her. And now the one thing everyone was afraid of and tried so damned hard to stop unleashed evil into the world. We are all doomed was Ezra's last thought before darkness took over.

"I need to know if I still have her loyalty." "Your majesty, in my expert opinion, you will no longer have it if I do this. If you suspect a traitor, would it not be better to simply call for an execution instead?" "I'm standing right here!" The queen's warrior stared hard at her liege from within the suffocating recesses of the dungeon room. "My Queen, have you ever known me to fear pain? Or death?" Evelia finally deigned to look her closest confidant in the eye. "No." "And yet I am afraid now." The monarch's eyes softened and she stepped closer. "It's not... it's not that I doubt you," she hesitated, considering. Then she sighed and shook her head, "I do. Yes. I have a doubt." It took all of her strength not to react to this soul-destroying admission, but the warrior retained her composure. She closed the distance, took the royal right hand in her own, and lifted it to point two fingers at her own sternum. "Then execute me now." The interrogator held his breath at the heaviness of the tension in their stare. Sara lightly pressed the hand of the person she'd trusted most. This was the only way that would preserve both her honor and their friendship. Her life had always been in these hands anyway. She felt power building in them and lowered her own hands to her sides, waiting. She almost, almost smiled. At the last moment, she felt a change: only one finger was touching her skin. That would diminish the force; it would debilitate and disable her, but it would not be near enough to... No! In the instant that her face registered the betrayal, a powerful blast of magic sent her crashing into the cell wall. The queen turned to leave, saying quietly, "Go easy on her, Artell." With what little strength was left her, the prisoner raised her head, "No, Artell. Don't." Something broke inside her as she realized it was the first time she'd countermanded an order from the queen. The stoic ruler said nothing, and as her steps receded and eventually faded from the desolate hallway, the screams of agony coming from each cell began anew. part 2 below
@JhadeSagrav
@JhadeSagrav 6 ай бұрын
part 2 (like there's anyone on the planet that will actually see this..) "Where is she?" "I had her moved to the Hall of Justice. I assumed she fit the criteria of 'nobility in custody awaiting her Majesty's verdict'." The queen nodded in agreement and dismissed the interrogator. However, Artell hesitated. “Was there something else?" “Your majesty, there is a reason this technique is used mainly to extract intel from spies or traitors just before they are executed. She may not be as you remember her. Most people are profoundly changed after this …experience.” “Sara is not most people.” Artell sighed, “No, no she is not.” Evelia sat thinking for a few moments after he left, then stood decisively and made her way to the person she hadn't seen for seven days. When she opened the door of the room, Sara was sitting at the edge of the small bed, head in hands. Evelia's heart sank to see her strongest warrior in that state. Sara slowly looked up, not meeting the visitor's look of concern, then stood very deliberately to attention. The queen entered. Noticing the formality, she gave the order, "At ease." The soldier did not move. Her Commander-in-Chief blinked. Was this a refusal to follow a direct order? Or was she really just more at ease remaining at attention? A hard knot began to form in her stomach, but such is the cost of leadership. She spoke gently as she approached, "You've been cleared of all suspicion of treachery." Sara still did not meet her gaze. Even when Evelia adjusted so they were perfectly at eye level, Sara's 100-yard-stare looked straight through her. From this vantage point, the queen could see the effects of her decision. Magical interrogation leaves no visible scars, but takes an immeasurable toll on the person. Sara appeared to have aged 10 years. The queen took another step closer, a powerful healing spell cupped in her right hand. She cautiously reached out to her, paralleling the same motion that had played out so differently in the dungeons, and pressed the spell into her sternum. Sara did not react. "I'm glad to have my friend back," the queen whispered softly. "All due respect, you hadn't lost her, ...your majesty." The response was monotone, robotic even. Only the slight pause before the words "your majesty" betrayed the existence of any kind of emotion. The knot tightened, but Evelia didn't show it, instead, she moved around to press her other hand against the warrior's back as the magic continued its work. She watched as a bit of color returned and the darkness under the eyes mitigated somewhat. Only time could heal the rest. As she walked back toward the exit, she delivered the rest of her verdict. "You are free to return to your home and your duties. No record of this will be kept or used against you." She stopped at the door, a queen must never apologize for a decision, but she had to say something. "I did what had to be done." "And I will do the same." Evelia took in a breath as the knot turned to lead. Dangerously, she retraced her steps to face her most loyal subject. "Communication is nuanced, so I will allow you to clarify." She drew close to her subject's ear, and asked in a low voice, "Is that a threat?" "No, your majesty." The queen eyed her, but she may as well have been scrutinizing stone. She waited for a better response. "I will do as I have always done." Evelia took a step back. "As you have always done." The strength of her right hand, the voice of selflessness and reason, Sara had always done the right thing. This satisfied her. She leaned forward almost imperceptibly, longing to reach out to her most-trusted companion, but she held back. "Get some rest, Sara," she whispered, then she was gone. ... "Can't," Sara muttered to herself. _"I have far too much to do."_

@@JhadeSagrav I enjoyed it. I'm curious what would have led to the queen having her trusted guard go though that now. Personally, I enjoy stories with twists about loyalty, character drama, and a splash of intrigue. One of my DnD campaigns has my character trying to reconcile their personal views about justice, law, and order with the fact they accidently fell in with a pirate crew for example😅
@JhadeSagrav

@@johnnelson4411 Ohh dang, I love me some pirates! Always wished I'd gotten into DND though I hear that requires "friends" and such. 😅🤷 If... if you really want to know (it drives me crazy to not know the end of stories), I sort of wrote the context in another video "Enemies to Lovers (But He Dies at the End) - Rhodé Baas". This happens somewhere between "Bad Side" and "Sweat" on that playlist. The warrior is trying to save someone from "the dark side," but in the end becomes evil herself. The queen was no longer sure where her loyalties lay: with her queen and her nation, or with the man she was falling in love with trying to save? This moment (the interrogation) was the catalyst that pushed her over. No one's fault. They all did what they thought had to be done. ☹️ Just that a sad situation results from it.

This is quite long, but this story fits a story and character of mine really well, so I'll try to share it here. . . . She looked at the dim sky, heavy and sagging under it's own weight. As low as the pit in her heart. She looked down from the high-tower. She cast such a large shadow on the crowd below. Everyday, she wanted to help others, to be kind, to be warm. To stand up for every victim, to give a smile to every stranger, to extend an open hand to everyone. But how can she be truly good and apart of the people she wants to help when she stands so high above, so far away from them. She feels the safest, the most comfortable on this high-tower, separated from the darkness of every she meets, separated by the cruel, cutthroat nature of this world, but she also feels that she can never be truly apart of everyone else, to feel the warmth she wants to give. She's just too separated from that. But still. She'll try. She'll be the best daughter she can, she'll be a friend to the world. She'll be dutiful. She'll be good. It doesn't matter if the world is filled with unkindness. It doesn't matter if everyone slaps her hand away. Because all the pain she goes through is merely deserved. It's penance for all that she's done. For ripping her own family apart. For shredding the happiness of everyone around her. For being cold, ruthless in the past, she will now be kind and good in the present and every present through the rest of eternity. . . . Days and nights pass. The pressure of the world keep weighing on her. Injustice is seeped into every corner. Every person is out for themselves. Every institution is corrupt. She watches as children are kept in brutal, poison infested conditions. She watches as living humans are stripped of all dignity, all rights and treated inhumanly. She's forced to walk through the fires of hell. To feel as the poison is seeped into her bones. And she has friends. People who comfort her, talk to her, stick with her. But she can never truly connect with them. She's just too separated from it all. She watches as they heal their families. Find warmth. But her own connections, her connections to the good in this world is only ever stripped from her. Her father is convicted unjustly. She chooses to testify for him. The trial is unfair. It was never going to spare him. She's seen the prison system. It's brutality. If her father must stay in a prison of blood and death for the rest his life, what's the difference from that and death? Why not just be decisive? Why keep up the pretense? "I demand death," are the words she uttered. As she ordered her father's execution, she knew she done something extreme, something people will hate her for. But even as her little sister spews words of anger and grief at her, she knew she'd done the right thing. She ended his pain. From here on forth, she will make the hard decisions that will save the world. Because the world is almost beyond saving. It's rotten to the core. It's really no different from dead. She gets it now. It's not just her that's separated from it all. There are so many people, no just people, spirits, organizations that are devoid of humanity. They are all completely cold. For a world this rotten, only decisive, extreme action can save it. It has to be her. No one else can do it. She'll become another one of these cold, inhuman beings, controlling the fate of this world. But she's better, so much better. Because she cares, even just it's the care she have for her little sisters, or the drive and determination beating warmly through her heart, or her desire to help! And for a world so irredeemable, she is truly the best they can ask for. She is more than they can ever hope of.

"I'll never be rid of her, will I?" The horned figure looked in the mirror, tears running down her face. The Lady of Shadows had always known there was a darkness inside, since the dedtruction of her people. She had formed a callousness that day, a coldness. Yet, the lady had always thought it under control. Suddenly, her eyes flashed red, and her demeanor changed. A smirk crossed the Lady's face, "Of course you won't. I'm you- the you that doesn't let something as silly as mercy get in the way. I'm you, but stronger." Gasping for breath, the Lady returned to her former self. She looked at the reflection she no longer recognized, at the monster others assumed she was, at the monster she now feared she was becoming. "No, you are not. I wont let you be stronger. I am The Lady of Shadows, heir of the hidden folk; you are just the spectre of my rage and vengeance on behalf of our people from that night; you are just a reflection. You are just my wrath; you are just my Wraith."

Her hands clutched at his t-shirt. Shaking his limp body. "Wake up please Darren." She whispers. His hair clotted and matted with clumps of brown blood. "Please." Her voice cracking. "I SAID WAKE UP! ARE YOU DEAF!" She shouts. His body cold as ice. His chest covered in the same liquid as his head. "He is dead my hero." says the stern voice. She shakes her head. Dropping his body. "YOU DID THIS!" The man staggers back. Her hand thrown to his neck. Her eyes glowing red. "I...did..n..o..t" He stutters. His back crushed against the wall. "You di..nt" she mocks. Crack. Smack. His body slides down the wall. She may of had a heart. But he had her heart. And now he is gone. She doesn't have one left.

A wee story, mostly based on the first song (since I especially like the line "I'll love the world like I should") ------------ The wind blew past, but I couldn't feel it, even in my short sleeve t-shirt. I knew, logically, how cold it was outside; how I would most likely be sick if I stood on the edge of the bridge overlooking the small river for too long. There wasn't a soul on the bridge, as it was too cold and too windy and too late for human beings. Though I was outside, contemplating taking a small swim - only further proof of my *otherness*. If this was a novel, it would be raining. But if this was a novel, I'd be a shitty protagonist. It is true, I did my damn hardest to be who I should. I tried to fool the world into calling me human. I was kind, I tried to find hope in the beliefs of others, I tried to be the type of human I wish I was. And yet, no matter how many humans leave with a smile on their face, or a fully heart (as they say), I still fail in convincing myself of my humanity. I see the world in a way that no human should. It's bland and desaturated. The colors of the world that make it full of life feel alien, like I was never supposed to be apart of it. It loses it's life and color all too soon, fading into a sad wash of blacks and grays. Once it looses it's color, it never lights up again. I am inhuman, merely a shadow parading as a man. Humans are truly ignorant creatures, as no one has noticed the creature among them. They proclaim me a hero, as the best among them. They say that my good works make the world a better place, but I fail to see it. What good could come from an inhuman monster like myself? Why do they swear to love me? They hardly know who I am. I have only met a few in my life, and yet thousands say they have a love for me that I hardly understand. They scream my name, yet I can't help but see the lie in it all. I do not understand their love. Why would you want to protect someone who you have to only seen from afar? Can you truly feel that deeply for someone when you have only seen them a few times? A boy took a bullet for me today. A boy, no older than 13, decided that my life was more important than his. He is a stupid little boy. Why would you sacrifice your life, one that had meaning, for a thing like me? He is a pure soul. I had to bury him a few minutes ago. His family asked me to do it, though I don't know why. Perhaps they share the same opinion as me. It should have be me in that all too small casket. I'm so tired. That's the only emotion I can feel in this colorless world. I have never felt joy or anger or sadness, though I came close to the last today. I have only ever felt tired. Tired of pretending to be good, to be human. Tired of being tired. Tired of this thing we call life. What's the point of pretending to be good, when people go out of their way to die for me? Why can't they just let me die without that on my mind? Let me drift through it all. Let me show my ugliness to the world, and let them be scared. Let them kill me instead of themselves. It isn't murder, if you're killing a creature instead of a man. What is the point of being good, if people die anyways? I am not like the rest, I can only see the logic of it all. No, instead of being good, I will be horrible. I will make them hate instead of love. No one will save me in exchange for themselves that way. Instead, they will kill me to save a loved one. As the world should be.

"Traitors! All of you! I clothed you! I fed you! I turned you into warriors! And now you stand against me?!" Screamed in desperation the voice of a broken man, a man who's sanity travelled far to never return. A man who displaced all his principles in his quest for absolute knowledge of a world as broken as him. "Who are you Master? Where have you gone?" Asked his best friend, sabre in hand, along his Master's former disciples, also weapons in hand, showing their will to strike. Yet, the hope of rescuing his Master from the black well he sank persists, the hope to prevent blood to be the liquid that for the first time in centuries wets the sands of the Great Desert. "We lost brothers and sisters in your pursuit to uncover the lost knowledge of this world. This has to stop! Please, holster your nodachi! Please, come back to your senses. Lets just - " "Lets just what?! Go back to how things were?! Go back and forget you stand now before me and not besides me?! Go back and ignore the danger that hides in the ruins of the old Empire?!" His Master interrupted him, saying each sentence as a question, a judgment, and a warning all at the same time. "I... I... I will not stand down. I bled too much to arrive here. I will bring the monsters that are inside that building out if I have to in order to kill you all." Spoke the Master, with a more tired voice that was not to confuse with fear, but more alike with a unstaggering determination. "I will face you, and then I will face the undying Emperor. I will find the answers I seek and even claim what might belong to me by right of conquest. I am not the monster. But even if I am, I will be the monster that protected this barren world from the danger behind those walls."

Might have to write one yourself! 😁 i have a dumb concept thing that kind of fits it. Not exactly hero-to-villain, but "This is How You Lose The Time War" is A-HUH-MAAAZING and it has spies fighting a war and flirting with the idea of defecting, so maybe hero-to-fired-hero kind of thing? here's my garbage, if you want a quick hit. It thus began, as all things do, With villain, One, and hero, Two. One such as I, entrenched in sin, Addicted to this heroine. The vile and dark within my soul, Sought out her light, would be made whole. She too against her judgment sound, Too many times near me was found. In her defense, she sought to slay The beast behind my eyes which lay. But cursed be all her piety! Pureness of heart: contagion be! I found myself seeking to find A way for her to pierce my mind. In doing so, I let her in And felt unwilling change begin. Yet as she changed me for the better, I watched my vice become her fetter. I taught this Angel ways of hell As I arose, she lower fell. I offered penance for my faults. She, former saint, was slitting throats. She'd seen the ugliness of man, As only weary heroes can. I asked her now to help me save One last victim from the grave. "Find the strength, I beg, for me, To free yourself, just as you freed One so despicable as I. Return to truth. Defeat the lie!" With steady hand, my jawline grazed, She whispered as she held my gaze: "I loved you with my every breath. Now you bring light, I offer death." We each are equal light and dark, She Fallen Saint, I Broken Heart.
