Oscar Fredriksborg's Fortress was a super-modern defense facility that would defend the waterway entrance to Stockholm. A combination of new materials and construction techniques made this fortress a model for future forts. Now, Sweden's defense facilities would not be visible and deter, but camouflaged in the terrain. In 1877, this modern fortress stood ready to meet the threat from the east.
In this second part, we explore the lower defense works including the rock tunnel, and we also have the honor of taking part in the start-up and operation of the power station's diesel power plant, which has been carefully renovated over many years.
