A walk through of how we put the camper build together when we are ready to take a trip along with how we store the build when we are not road tripping.

Dude this is exactly what I'm trying to do, and I'm overthinking it. I like how it looked like you just threw it together however you had to, but there were so many perfect things about it. Like how the mattress fits perfectly as a sofa or a bed. Super video! You inspired me to give it a shot!

Wicked.....you inspired me to do the same to my f150. Retiring in 2 & half years, logical way to go. Thanks again!!!

The bed was genius. I was fixing to have a 3 foot wide bed but yours was so simple to set-up I’m re-thinking mine. I’d like to know more about your roof racks. Great build, safe travels.

We sat in the back of the empty bed pickup for weeks with a pen and paper drawing blueprint after blueprint with a focus on playing devils advocate to our ideas. Finally, we landed here.

Very nice. I'd love to have the blueprints for that build. The couch/bed modes are a must for me also.

I use to have them but unfortunately I do not. We sat in the back of the truck and drew them out for weeks. We measured things down to the cm, and we drew on paper what that would look like from top and side views. It was very in-depth.

OMG thank you so much! I have a similar plan drawn out to start my build. It is awesome to actually see it before I get started. I had my bed set up a little differently where the inside piece would fold over on top of the outside piece but your way is a lot easier. I'm just glad to know I was on the right track. Mine will be full time living. I'm so excited. God Bless you on your adventures. I am struggling now as to whether or not to have some kind of flooring for insulation purposes. Any suggestions?
@durangodez96324 жыл бұрын
We were going to go with the flip option as well and ended up changing it to the system in the video. Very glad we did because moving the mattress to flip the bed each time would have been a big pain. That being said, the only insulation we would need is during winter, and at that point, nothing it warm enough other than a 0* bag and warming up the cabin with a Little Buddy type heater.
@JesusIsaFlatEarther3 жыл бұрын
So have you completed your design? I have that full time living idea in mind as well. I'd rather not go the pickup shell route, but I own a 8' bed pickup that soon will be paid for and don't want a payment of any kind. I liked the futon mattress idea, doubling as a sofa. And I really like the simplistic slide out for storage. I believe if you don't have a heat source, than insulation isn't going to be a huge factor, as you'll need to vent the window's to minimize condensation. Since the bed will just be for me, I've considered an insulated coffin type sleeping system, where my body heat was the heat source.

Do you have any plans for this I am planning to get a truck soon and use something very similar to this, the only difference I am planning to make is to use something like your grooves for the top of the side piece as well so I can use the extra bed space for a desk when I’m not using it as a bed. I would probably widen the left side a bit and shrink the half bed a bit to make it hang less as well. This is really a perfect because it’s very easy to install and remove but also extremely functional

I love it ... need to find someone to do the build for me since I have no garage or tools
@durangodez96323 жыл бұрын
Chop saw, circular saw and drill gun were the main tools! look into local shops that offer rental. Could be a great option.
@SuperCinemaCraft2 жыл бұрын
Is there somewhere I can order that mattress?
@JoeNorero3 жыл бұрын
You could add flat handles for cheap and that would make it a breeze to lift and install your inside rig.
@durangodez96323 жыл бұрын
For sure, though we haven't, this would help.

Your not going to get a comfy mattress like that in any other setup other that a topper setup
@durangodez96323 жыл бұрын
For sure. We knew right-away we wanted the tallest topper out there. I think I said those exact words in the ordering process.
