The hike you NEED to do in the Algarve [7 Hanging Valleys!]

We've been looking for some great hikes in Portugal, and WOW, does the Algarve deliver! We decided to hike the 7 Hanging Valleys trail in the Algarve - a beautiful hike that hugs the coastline.
The 7 Hanging Valleys Trail is one of the most popular in the Algarve (possibly THE most popular!). It's 7 miles out and back - meaning it isn't circular and you have to hike back (unless you call a rideshare service...). You'll see incredible cliffs, fishing villages, sinkholes, and of course the hanging valleys themselves.
We started our hike at Praia da Marinha, intending for the sun to be at our backs while we walked.

I found the natural stone in the Algarve to be extremely slippery. I first noticed it in a pedestrian area where I almost fell. I did not realize it was native to the area until a friend slipped on a tennis ball sized stone embedded in a sandy path. The path was littered with these stones. It was her first day of vacation. She broke her ankle and spent the next two weeks in a cast sitting in a wheelchair as we toured through Portugal.
