GOOD MORNING MY CRAZY ROCK PEOPLE! A few quick things: - The Giveaway has been reached and will be posted in the next week or two, so keep your eyes peeled. - I am in the process of re-branding.... that's right, Agate Angler is going to have a logo. Stay tuned, there is going to be a special announcement related to this. - Last and not least - Who can name all of the items that were shown in the into to the video (2 Flowers, One Feather) - What flowers are they and what bird did the feather come from?

I'm guessing the pink flower is a Bitterroot, and the feather is from a turkey! I don't know what the purple flowers are, but I should because I see them all over.

Great rock hunt! I think the pink flower is the Bitterroot, the Montana state flower. The purple flower looks like Lupine, and the feather looks like it came from a wild turkey.

Some day i would love to make it to Montana, but for now i will see it through your eyes. You get so excited, but are so down to earth. Thank you for your videos.

You got some good finds Alex, cutters and tumblers. It's cool that you mentioned the Pryor Mountains. I go there to the wild horse range to photograph the horses and find shell fossils at the 8500 foot level. It't mostly limestone up there, part of the Morrison Formation. Where are you hunting in the Pryors? I know there are some amazing Dryhead agates that come from one part but it is not public.

Thats so awesome the alluvial gravels are 700 feet above the river, what a massive flood/erosion would cause that! Super nice hill finds! 🎉

Yeah it is the same question I ask myself! I know that the Yellowstone River Gravel deposit extends for many miles beyond the boundary of the river itself and I have found source material high in the mountains closer to Yellowstone Park, but it is incredible to hunt it for yourself.

Here in maine we have a beautiful beach called jasper beach. It's downeast about 2 hours away from home. It's a all rock coastal beach. The rocks have tumbled for ever and are so smooth. We went a couple weeks ago and I found a real agate. I sat there on a hill of rocks and because I was a distance from the water I licked it. I was so excited.

There's a place up the Gallatin Canyon that is a forest of petrified wood, it is against the law to take any of it though. Great finds!! You almost sound like a fisherman, "You know there are big ones out here, but it's still fun to fish."

Are you not affraid of the bear encounters? Or any other animals ?
@AgateAngler
@AgateAngler 10 күн бұрын
No, I am generally speaking not afraid of the wildlife. For one thing, there are not very many 'dangerous' animals in this location. Black bears are not aggressive as long as you use your brain and keep your distance. You have to maintain a healthy respect for nature and be aware of your surroundings, but there is not anything to fear.

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have some rocks that are magnetic.vtheu look like silk pitch black moon rocks. They have holes as if it held something. I thought meteorites but may be lodestone or magnetite. I also have a rock that is almost in square shape. It is red and black like a black widow. Beautiful but when. I magnify it I see it has a bright green. Like slimmer from ghostbusters. It is like a vein. I looked up it may be a breccia or red jasper.
