I saw this in the theater. Everyone cheered when Doug got up at the end to save the baby. Like, sheer willpower turned him from an an annoying creep into a badass.

The day I got my drivers license I went to see “V for Vendetta”. Then I snuck into this movie. And after that I snuck into “Slither”. Best day at the movies ever.

When I was a kid we could buy a ticket and then stay for the other movies. It was only one screen so they started in the afternoon. It was also free Coke and popcorn refills. Gotta love the 80s

This movie really freaked me out growing up, along with others like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, Dawn of the Dead remake, and Hostel. The early-mid 2000's had some really crazy horror movies that had this sence of brutal realism.

Interesting and likely fairly unheard of story! Surely most of us EOM copilot commenters/viewers didn’t know that fact - thanks for the intrigue! I’m going to pursue further research on it now. I personally have always found criminal psychology and all the morbidity that comes with unfortunate events that have happened in reality INCREDIBLY fascinating! It was even my major in college 🙂 Thanks again 🤘🏻

So the way I figure it is if we each make a couple hundred fake accounts and subscribe, then he has to do it. (He can totally handle it, he's been tough enough since the end of Stephen King's It Part One.)

I'd recommend a movie called "Wrong Turn" as well. It's a little freaky, and I think takes place in West Virginia, but wouldn't swear to that. It would be a good one to save for October.

The father is a horror legend. Played in Fast and the Furious. The OG voice of Rusty Nail from Joy Ride (featuring Paul Walker, you gotta watch on your channel sometime. AMAZING thriller) and Silence of the Lambs which is a classic. Love this movie so much and the hell the family goes through. The sequel is REALLY GOOD TOO. Gotta see that very soon too.

In the original movie, @EOMReacts, the gas station owner is actually the paternal grandfather of the mutants. His youngest son is the mutant patriarch Papa Jupiter, who was a real sick bastard as a young kid, committing arson, animal cruelty and eventually killed his own sister. So his old man bashed his face in and left him for dead in the desert, except he survived and started up a family with a nightlady no one would miss, the mutants Ruby, Lizard, Pluto etc. being the gas station owner's grandkids.

There's actually some comic books for these movies. They don't make it out the desert. They gave backstory to the mutants and made them slightly sympathetic for some reason.

You need to check out the director's first film, a French slasher movie called High Tension. Rumor says that Wes Craven loved it and chose him to direct this movie. All of his movies since then have been in English.
