Oh, how I can relate to this song...... WOW! The line that says; "Unworthy to live and not fit to kill"---- that is my life--- and for so long that is exactly how I felt! Exactly! But one day I opened my heart and found the answer for every problem I had and every problem I would ever have. That answer is Jesus--- the only one who overcame the grave so that we could leave this old earthly vessel and spend eternity in a place like no other and walk with Him through out the endlessness of eternity. When I think of that and what He did----for me, like the song says; (that I could still go free). Praise God!

I was so excited that I was able to find this video...I would not miss the Gospel Singing Jubilee every Sunday while getting ready for church. The Hinsons were and still are one of my all time favorite gospel groups. You can tell that they are singing from the heart in every song they do. Thanks for posting, I have some great memories of that time.

I miss this group so much !! I was raised on this kind of Anointed Holy Ghost filled music my parents took us to all sorts of Gospel concerts and there is or was nothing close to the Hinson's Ronnie and Kenny are truly Anointed song writer's,Musicians and singers and I miss Kenny's voice and the light of Jesus on his face and I can't wait to sing with him around the throne!!

My mother used to wake me up on Sunday mornings for Church by cranking up the t.v. volume with JUBILEE, JUBILEE..YOU'RE INVITED TO THIS GOSPEL JUBILEE...what memories :) Hinsons, Florida boys, etc, etc.....

I grew up listening to The Hinsons. This song was one of my favorites. My sixth grade class went on a weekend trip to Washington, DC. While traveling on the Greyhound Bus overnight, this song stuck in my head and I sang it the entire weekend. It was my first time ever being away from home like that and I was nervous. 'That I Could Still Go Free' gave me comfort and peace throughout the trip.

I love the Lord. Jesus forgave me of all my sins. I was one of the chiefest of sinners. I'm so thankful Jesus loved me and for his mercy and forgiveness. Jesus is the only one that really loves us. He showed me that when he saved a wrench like me.

aww not this is the Kenny i remember.. im from a small town in Missouri but every weekend without fail id go to Nashville when they were taping the Gospel Singing Jubilee and stay with Chris.. we use to tease we were cousins because we had the same last name.. such a dear friend then and Now!..such beautiful memories of all the hinsons ill cherish forever..

in the 70s the Hinsons would come thru north Alabama, when they were touring, my mom owned a motel they would come by and stay there she never charged them , and i had all their records and was in awe of them , they were always so thankful and nice, i remember my mom bought a dress for Kris and they had to approve it before she could accept it , great memories of this great Godly group !

Waking up on the weekends as a kid to my dad listening to the Hinsons...they will always hold a place dear to my heart! I have a picture of me with one of them either Ronny or Kenny I was about 2 or 3!!!

so sad Kenny passed ,but he is in Heaven now singing or taking a rest.

My parents were playing your music -and I’ve been trying to remember this song bc it was everything to me-Jesus spoke to me then -I hated where we moved -but this song right here-This song Jesus let me know He was there with me then. Just wow!! And-my family -Heaven Bound -country gospel group from Williamsburg KY. They did many of your songs. The Lighthouse -my uncle Freddie Powers sang this song -he passed a few yrs ago & they put this song -The Light House on his tombstone. Yes I woke up every Sunday morning listening to the same GOSPEL SINGING. I said them folks can really sing. I would not say a word to anyone. I just said it to myself I wish I could do something like that. Well in February of 1976 I gave my heart and life to the Lord. In about a one year later I was on the same Stage with The Original Hinsons and The Florida Boys etc. There are no limits as to what God can do is there?

Yes I to grew up listening to the Hinsons every Sunday morning. I would also see the other gospel greats on the same program. I used to wonder what it would be like to meet these people in real life? I had no idea what was instore for my life in 1977. In November of 1977 I met a semi part time gospel quartet. In the that group was 2 men that used to be with the Dixie Melody Boys. I found myself travelling out of state doing only what I dreamed of. The next month being December 1977 I found myself being on the same program with The Original Hinsons in New Bern, N.C. What a blessing it was.

I agree the Hinson family had a great sound. I love the message this song delivers, this song gives praise to our Savior Jesus. It’s all about Him, without Jesus dying on the cross, and God raising Him on the 3rd day. None of us would be free. Praise the Lord. 🙌
