Yet BOTH the Tiberian and Babylonian vowel pointing systems based on DIFFERENT Hebrew dialects record Yehovah. If a genuine dialectical difference leads to a different pronunciation, then of course there is nothing wrong with pronouncing the name consistent with the dialect in use. But the arguments being used against Yehovah insist they are the "original" pronunciation without a fraction of the evidence available to make such a claim, and aren't consistent with any known Hebrew dialect. Yehovah is at least based on an ancient tradition across multiple dialects with mountains of evidence from a wide variety of angles. No other proposed pronunciation can say the same, aside from simply adapting "Yehovah" to conform to a known dialect in use (e.g. "Yehowah" for the Yemenite dialect). The Masoretic Text says "Ehyeh asher ehyeh", and then "Yehovah" in the next verse. Please show ANY Hebrew manuscript that says "Hayah asher hayah" in Exodus 3:14. "Gametz" is not a Hebrew vowel. Kamatz is. Strong's Dictionary is not a source trusted by any serious Hebrew scholar. Scholarship does not claim the vowels in Yehovah come from eloah. It claims they come from adonai. But the vowels in Yehovah are NOT the vowels of Adonai, as Nehemia has pointed out many times in many different ways and anyone with eyes can plainly see. He has addressed unusual substitutions elsewhere. "Yahweh" is based on a supposed Samaritan source, when they weren't even speaking the name at the time.

@@SepticFuddy People using Strong’s Dictionary of Bible Words are believed to be doing so incorrectly by not doing the hard work of parsing the Greek and learning how to do so correctly. Strong’s Dictionary of Bible Words is never meant to be preached from. It is to locate passages in the Bible if you know only one word in that passage, but even many of the current hybrid Strong’s Greek dictionaries still display the same problem with presenting only root words. Ministers should be using only Greek New Testaments, or excellent Word Studies that go into great depth, and even Vines doesn’t hold up to this standard. Strong’s contribution, which utilized over 100 contributors is a fantastic tool in locating passages, especially understanding when it was created over 100 years ago before computers. And the dictionaries in the back are only meant to be a general guide, which he notes in the preface, that no one ever reads; explaining that it is a root dictionary. James Strong was NOT a Linguist who understood Biblical Languages though James Strong was a professor, he was NOT a professor in Greek or Hebrew and was not fluent in these languages, he received nothing but a summary introduction education in these languages. And his credentials as a Doctorate of Theology are only honorary; even though he became a professor of Biblical Literature and Exegetical Theology at Troy University and Drew Theological Seminary in New York. His highest earned degree was a Master's (Not in biblical languages, but generic in theology), wherein he was the valedictorian of his graduating class.

Moreover, you declare what "WASN'T said" by rejecting the vowel tradition and then just make up your own vowels to claim to know what WAS said. What a classic example of "Facebook Hebrew" hypocrisy. The aspersions cast on the Samaritans come directly from Scripture, the Maccabees, and other ancient sources. The Samaritans only preserve (a faulty version of) the Torah, not even the book of Joshua or anything that came after. The Samaritans today even claim to never have had a temple which we have ancient evidence contradicting. Exactly why do you think they have preserved a more accurate version of events? They have their agendas and traditions like anyone else and far less ancient documentation to support them. Everybody seems to be hoping to find some pure, unadulterated source of transmitted information dating back millennia, to the point of throwing out their brains to declare obscure sources to be more accurate than what we've maintained simply because it isn't the prevailing tradition. Such a "pure source" simply doesn't exist. Truth is not that convenient. And there was no "Orthodox Judaism" 2000 years ago.

Yahweh is from the Samaritans. John 4:22 Samaritans had their own temple! Within the region of Samaria, in the city of Sychar, was Jacob’s well. This was the location of Jesus’ conversation with the Samaritan woman, who asked, “Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?” (John 4:12). Later in the conversation, she brought up a centuries-old controversy: “Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem” (verse 20). “This mountain” is a reference to Mount Gerizim in the central Samaritan highlands, the place where the Samaritans had built their own temple, which they considered the true temple of God.
