The Name Tipu Fort was Given Because of Hyder Ali's Son Tipu Sultan. This Palakkad fort histor was first ruled by Palakkad Achchan who was a tributary ruler under Zamorin of Calicut and Later he went independent and the zamorin was planning to invade palakkad at that time.
