The History of France : Every Year

3 жыл бұрынHere comes my new "History of France" video correcting the mistakes made in the previous video. This one includes the Gallic era but does not show the colonies - which were pretty well shown in the aforesaid previous video.
France's historical beginning is controversial when it comes to give it a date, but we can make it start in 481 when Clovis unites all of the Frankish tribes under a common sovereign entity.

8:42 Officially, the capital was Paris. But the imperial capital (and it still is) is Fontainebleau. There is also Napoleon's castle and there is an eagle on the emblem of the city. If you come to France, I advise you to visit this magnificent place and its very surprising forest

So in 1942-1943, after Vichy France was invaded by Germany, and Free France had obtained Algeria, there is a time when France (not including colonies) 'moved' entirely to Africa, since Algeria was considered a part of France (considered as a department just like the others). Then Free France obtained Corsica and then the rest of the mainland.

To say that France had rough times with Germany and England is an understatement. The whole modern world is the consequence of this triangular rivalry (with a bit of spanish involvment as well).
