I wish Imagi Studios was still around. They were really underrated. I hope one day the studio comes back.

I am the VFX director of Imagi, I worked there until it close. I have a wonderful time in this company, I still think of the time in this company even if it is more than 10 years ago. After the collaspe of Imagi studio, there are no such a large amination studio in HK till now. Thank you for making this video and bring my memory back again

Imagi Studios was my favorite CGI studio, when I’ve first watched TMNT (2007), when I was little, when I’ve recognized Warner Bros. Pictures, and I’ve got introduced to The Weinstein Company. It’s a shame that it got closed down, due to bankruptcy, like how DNA Productions closed before The Ant Bully was released in 2006, but I still hope it can be revived and continue making more CGI films. I’ve also watched Astro Boy, I personally loved it, especially it was being distributed by Summit Entertainment, and Astro Boy is a great character to me. Thank you for making this video. Imagi has been in my heart of CGI. :)

The Legend of Zelda Movie was originally to be released in 2008, but it was Temporarily canceled, & replaced the idea to TMNT (2007), Thanks to Nintendo.

Looks like this should be something Electric Dragon Productions should make as an editorial named The History of Imagi Studios: The studio that made TMNT and Astro Boy (2009).

So, I did some research, and apparently not all the animators at Imagi Studios are from Hong Kong, China. In fact, one of the animators from "TMNT (2007)", Drew Adams, is apparently now a DreamWorks animator, since he's been a part of a lot of DreamWorks movies, including my all time favorite "The Bad Guys (2022)". And I know that because I looked at Drew Adams' IMDB page. 👍🏻

Honestly Imagi definitely had a lot of potential, i would definitely give them credit for trying to be different and not be like Pixar or Dreamwork hell if it wasn’t for Astro Boy bombing at the box office we could have gotten that Gatchaman film which looks amazing hell I feel Imagi would been perfect for adapting IPs like Bayonetta, Thundercats and Street Fighter, let’s hope one day their can be an animation studio like Imagi.

I should’ve mentioned Triggerfish Animation Studios in the beginning, since that’s an South African animation studio.

I just realized that Imagi was sold to Brad Foxhoven: a producer that works at Blockade Entertainment (the guys who produced the “Ratchet & Clank” movie). Oh, boy.

That sucks! Imagi Studios closed down on February 5, 2010. because of Astro Boy.

(Recomment) I can’t believe Astro Boy movie was known as a box office bomb. That movie was awesome!! TMNT and Astro Boy are amazing films and I will never understand why that movie failed!! It clearly did not deserve to be known as a failure. It was actually good!!

I remember seeing the Astro Boy movie before I saw the anime. Me: *sees astro boy movie first time* Me after seeing the actual show: 👁️👄👁️ Enjoyed the show, but it was kinda weird.

I think Illumination entertainment will make the legend of Zelda movie

Even though I haven’t seen either of there films (though I do plan watch them) it’s still sad that a company went out of business, especially when they only made 2 movies. I’m honestly curious of how there other films would’ve gone down and how they would’ve made there future movies. Would they all be adaptions or would they occasionally run there hand at making original ideas every now and then. I also appreciate how there 2 films weren’t trying to be like Disney, Pixar or even dreamworks. They were made before spider-verse so action animated movies were rare at the time

Oh yes that reminds me, I heard that "Imagi Animation Studios" was bought off by the producer "Brad Foxhoven". Although I do have an honest question, the title/name "Imagi Studios" is nowhere to be found (labeled) on any of the Blu-ray or DVD back covers of any of the films that he's produced.

Man if only they didn't fuck up the plot of astro boy which is pretty generic to me astro boy wouldn't be that clusterfuck of a movie since animation is ok and voice acting is ok
