The History Of Ken - Street Fighter 6 Series

Hello everyone!
And welcome back to another Street Fighter history of video!
Thank you again for all the love and support that the series has been getting since Its creation just a month ago!
With Street Fighter 6 on the Horizon, being now on a few months away, and with us having covered Ryu, It felt only right that we flip the coin, by going to the other side, so In todays video, we will be talking about the United States Martial Arts Champion, the hot blooded Ansatsuken fighter, Ken Masters!
Ken has been a huge huge face within the series, being the life long friend of Ryu and his eternal Rival, one of my favourite aspects about Kens character Is the sheer contrast between him and Ryu, that despite them being from largely different background, they were able to form a brotherhood and carry on their master legacy, Gouken.
What really has caught my attention, Is his current situation In Street Fighter 6, robbed of both his enterprise and family, you see whilst Ryu has always been the wandering warrior, It was Ken that decided to settle down as a father, a student, a teach and as a family man, his growth In the series has been exponential!
But with Street Fighter 6 having stripped him of all he has become, It now place Ken In a position we have never seen him before, he is vulnerable and open to the world against his will... but nothings more then dangerous then a caged animal, thus we must wait and see what becomes of Ken and WHO is responsible for his downfall!
So In todays epsidoe, we will be talking about Ken (as well as his new conflicting origins), his privileged beginnings, his humble ascension to brotherhood, and finally his evolution to becoming a father!

Ken's story in SF6 definitely seems like some classic action movie. A man who had it all, wealth, a family, skill, fame, then mysteriously loses it all. He will do everything he can to gain it all, and stop the foe who caused him such trauma. See Ken Masters in STREET FIGHTER 6!!!

Dude, I'm so inspired by your hard work. You literally updated and upgraded your history of Ken video and you didn't even have too. You inspire me to keep pushing and put in the work every time I see you do something awesome! It shows your dedication to what you love, it shows your resolve and discipline when you do a video you technically done before. Like an artist redrawing an old picture and seeing how much you've grown since then. Respect

I do love the thematic disconnect between some of these characters, mainly those embroiled in a genuine overarching plotline and those are simply pursuing their dreams, and how they end up clashing in street fights that'll probably end with the carefree soul awkwardly muttering 'that's rough, buddy' while the storyline sap laments the terrible conflicts they've dealt with. Like, Manon's here having a great time, balancing her professions and passions, proudly declaring herself the world's strongest supermodel, and then you have poor Ken, his contributions to Bison's defeat undermined by a criminal conspiracy, forced to abandon his family and business, scrounging on the sidelines in a vigilante pursuit of his saboteurs all while knowing his every waking moment is a nightmarish fear of what will happen to those he cares about if he fails to clear his name.

It's worth noting that coming in May we'll get the prelude comics that is Street Fighter 6 which will tied in to the game coming out on June which features the new world warriors Jaime,Kimberly & Luke. And with that sheds some light on what transpire between Ken whole situtation, so with that in mind I do hope you will do a followed up on that as well with game that brings it in together for I'm very much interested in what outcomed will be for Ken!

I always wonder why Akuma never tried to go after Ken trying to make him give into the Satsui No Hado but I guess cause he doesn't have a big drive in fighting compare to Ryu or even Sagat so there be no point of him being under the influence of the Dark Hado.

ken is a pure sport fighter, he doesnt have the same drive as ryu, who is trying to become as strong as he possibly can.

I always imagined Ken's wife Eliza becoming a Fighter maybe have Ken in trouble and being held captive and to save her husband she recruit Chun-Li and Guile to train her that be a interesting turn of events but we'll never get this anyway.

There is a lot of conflicting SF info out there and with SF6 coming out soon this is a great time for someone to try to make sense of it. If any youtuber can it's you. Looking forward to more, maybe a video looking at best guesses for who won SF2, SFIV, etc. I believe Ryu and Alex are confirmed to have won 1 and 3.

Ryu follows the way of the Do (path) hence why he doesn't stray from the philosophies and teachings from their master Gouken. Probably why he emulates so much of Gouken moves. Ken follows the jutsu (technique) of ansatsuken, always creating new moves and flashy attacks. Being innovative and his family are his drives, not the need to win at all cost. That's why he'll never succumb to the Dark Hadou.

Ken is an amazing character and really his developed is one of the best arcs in SF history. he along with Cammy and Akuma, probably have my favorites arcs in the story of Street Fighter.

I like the Ken origin story where he tried to keep his parents together by acting out I tried that with my parents when I was a teen and it didn’t work so I can some what relate to what he was going through

I hope (although it would be highly unlikely) that the cause of Ken losing almost everything is Violent Ken and they (Capcom) somehow build an amazing story detailing this and Ken getting retribution👀 What do you guys think?

Well that's a good theory but the key word being 'almost" would imply something rather real tragic of him to turn into Violent Ken like say something real bad happened to Eliza or Mel that would possibly sent him off. Before it was Bison who brainwashed him to go on a rampage against his brother/friend Ryu, but now that he is "dead" that would be other best(or in this case worst) scenario for Ken to have that happen to him.

Great job on your work of ken's backstory, even with cammy. If you need help with SF timeline wise I would recommend reading the Udon Comics series which has a more firm grasp of the Street Fighter series.

I've always looked at Ken as the Goku to Ryu's Vegeta. Not personality wise obviously. Not sure if that's accurate but it's makes it more interesting rather than base "the story" around the strongest like always.

Great work! Ken is one of my cousin's favorite characters! And then some of my other y favorite characters is Ryu! So those battles were always interesting. lol But the characters I would like for you to do next is Gouken, Goutetsu, Sakura, Charlie and Colonel Guile, in that order. *Sidebar: What's the opposite of the Dark Hado (Raging Demon)? Is it the Heavenly Angel or something? I thought I read that somewhere.

I felt the same way. In the past few videos, his cadence has been off. It sounds unnatural. I wonder why he changed it. The older videos are absolutely amazing, but I'm not big on this new cadence he's adopted. It sounds like he got some advice to read it like this, so he tried it, but it's not working out.
