This honestly is awesome to see, our industry needs young inspiried apprentices. I started a year ago totally oblvious to the trade but ive loved every minute of it. Just keep the end game in mind when youre digging trenches in the sun lol. Dont give up its more than worth it.

One reason I've always been so fascinated by plumbing is simply the concept of moving water from place to place. Something we've all taken for granted at one point or another but having such easy access to this substance that is necessary for life is truly a marvel of human ingenuity. my property has wire bound wooden pipes still in place where the original creek fed water system took care of the community's water needs. they aren't in service, and they are slowly rotting away, but they are still there.

New orleans used hollowed out cypress trees for water mains until the very early 1800s. One was discovered still in service in 1914.

As a FF we learn that in colonial times with Ben Franklin, the term "CATCH A PLUG" Literally ment Boring a hole in the Wooden Water Main and driving a wooden plug into it then youd pull the plug out to drive in a hose adapter. Then when the fire was out youd drive the plug back in.

These low flow fixtures also keep the plumbers in business because homes don't have enough water flow to clear the pipes properly. Whatever money you save using low flow fixtures you give to the plumbers to unclog the pipes.

Pb lead Plumbous plumbers worked with a lot of lead back in the day from lead piping to soldering joints with lead hence the term plumber.

While working on Beacon Hill in Boston, I found some wooden pipe in the ground that appeared to be two halves of a hollowed log pine pitched or tarred together. After also finding a bunch of bricks, I assume it was pipes to a cistern.

Funny fact In Mexico .. people say Aguas as slang to say watch out or be careful It’s because when people would throw their piss out the window they would scream Aguas (waters) to warn people passing by

How about the reason we call it "plumbing". The first pipes were made by hammering sheets of lead, which is "plumbum" in Latin.

The Biltmore house in asheville nc had a pool in the basement that had 2 water supplies on either side. One supplied water and filled the pool from a nearby river and the other drained the pool into a creek

No Sir. THE Egyptians taught the Greeks Everything about Aquaducts. Amazing how when people of Color create something like Math, Science even things like the Air conditioner or storing Blood plazma its always hidden. Its called Egyptology not Greekolgy. Remember no one digs up their Ancestors from the grave. The people there now are not the Dark people with the Braids in their hair.. Greeks learned from Timbuktu as well. .

Last month I discovered that the washer on the hose bib was dripping, i replace that no problem. so i continued to investigate for damage. UG! must this drip went on for a few months, ran down inside the wall to the particle board in the next room, a spare bedroom/storage. about a third of the floor was about to fall to the ground. now i got all that fixed. and back to the plumbing and cause, or prevention "I Hope". i removed the panel of wall to expose the plumbing. ( i wish i could send you pics.) where the plastic in-cert for the washer, i drilled a hole for 1/2 PVC in the the bottom to catch the future leakage and one i the discharge drain about 7 inches below, and above the trap,. the with PVC bits and an 90 i connected the holes. for insurance i put some tub and tile sealant around and voids i could fins, then on the other side i heated, cut and formed a peace of ABS. to be used as a damn in front of the valves for the washer. this i screwed in to the wall and added more sealant as well. looks like garbage bu i think it will work better. for a leaky hose bib washer, cost me over $400. for materials and weeks of work. yep im a DYDer. if you want to see the pics let me know.. I don't know if it's worthy of a video but famous/memorable movie scenes involving plumbing. 1st Godfather where Michael retrieves a gun from the gravity fed toilet. Big Lebowski where the dude gets his head shoved in the toilet and last example and no explanation but Dumb & Dumber toilet scene.

2:54 The "Belle" scene from the classic "Beauty and Beast". The lady was dumping water, but with no obvious filth, no suds? - I'll bet you dollars to donuts that's was just Disney's way of censoring poop from a chamber pot. Also, Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom? All those random gravel paths that seem to lead to nowhere? Those represent the chamberpot poop trails they used to have in the streets back then. Think about that the next time you visit "The happiest place on earth"! :D

You need to clear your kitchen sink sewer with a snake, your faucet is a completely different issue and you could possibly need a new faucet.

Roger, did you watch the video? Could you splice the scenes a little closer together. The 3 second segments are going to send some folks into seizures. Don't let the kid running the video editing ruin it for you. You do a great job on your videos. No reason for all of the extra editing.

Plumbing and the fire service go together. To this day the term "catch the plug" is still used when referring to hydrants. It dates back to wooden water mains. In the day, if a wooden main was drilled or tapped for use, it was "plugged" up to be used again.
