And welcome back to another Instalment In my Mortal Kombat series!
With the hype train now finally under way with this weekends incredible reveals at San Diego Comic Con, I figured that seeing as we have tackled his now older brother week, and the ‘blue’ ninja of the franchise, It would only be right today to go over this characters iconic throughout the Mortal Kombat franchise, his ever lasting impact on gaming media as awhile, and the character that really started it all for this very channel!
So today with a new dawn and new era on the horizon, I think that this would be a great opportunity to revisit those older videos, educate you newer fans as well as covering some interesting bits for you older ones, that you may have glossed over! bring you all up to date with this Scorpion In this new breathing world, now mind you before we do begin, a quick disclaimer that currently as of making this video, the identity of Scorpion Is yet to be officially revealed, thus to stream line this video I will be solely focusing on Hanzo Hasashis tale as It would naturally make much more sense for this video!

I know they're not really cannon. But scorpions mk 11 ending it's shown that Titans and bigger deity's are responsible for his clans death and no matter how many times he reset the timeline. Just wish it was still hanzo

I love that Daisuke Tsuji is voicing Kuai Liang in this game, that’s such a great choice. I loved Daisuke as Jin Sakai in Ghost of Tsushima.

I suppose Hanzo Hasashi's family/clan tragedy, leading to his death and becoming a revenant to kill Bi Han Sub Zero, can only be covered so many times. I hope that in MK 1's timeline, Kuai Liang and Hanzo are still friends at the very least. You don't go through ten games to put an end to a centuries long feud between your clans and then let it go up in smoke, figuratively not the grey ninja. No jokes intended there. Love the voice they chose for this new Scorpion, and I have always loved the detail of the Scorpion tattoo on this Kuai Liang's left arm from first seeing it in gameplay reveal trailers. I remember from an analysis series called Which Ninja?, there was an episode on the accuracy of Scorpion, and somewhat the Lin Quei, to historical ninjas. "Real ninja wear blue." to blend in with the blue-black darkness of night skies is emphasized throughout that series. Scorpion's yellow uniform was made to disrespect that tenant of stealth, opposing the Lin Quei's approach to espionage and assassination stylings even before he opens his mouth or lets a fireball fly. I thought that was kind of cool.

Ironically you bringing up Smoke is what makes me believe Smoke is Hanzo in this new timeline. Smokes parents are killed by the Lin Kuei but he’s taken in and Scorpion aka Kuai Liang considers him a brother, so if he’s Hanzo then they can continue their new friendship but under different identities

I've been an MK fan my whole life and I love that even though the series is now on its second reboot, all events within all 12 games are canon as the first timeline caused events to change in the second timeline which is being directly continued in the third timeline.

Hanzo Hasashi is One of the Most Tragic Characters, Losing his Family and Clan, Almost Losing His Humanity and Sense of Honor, a Agenda with the Lin Kuei and Quan Chi, a Tale of Revenge and Redemption, and choosing a Better Future, Hanzo will Always and Forever Will be One One of Mortal Kombat’s most Iconic and Important Characters in the Franchise and whatever his Role will be in MK1, my Personal Theory is that his the Father of this New Versions of Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

Well supposedly he will be Takkada when leaks first came out for this game it was said and guessed all the kombat pack characters and the identities of subzero and scorpion right on the head...so if all of its true and you zoom in on Takada in a still he looks pretty old so maybe Hanzo is there and we just don't know yet who knows tho honestly

I never realized Hanzo got stabbed by Dvorah in both the MKX story and MK11. It's almost if it was a callback. I was actually surprised she was able to kill him. Both Hanzo and Mileena need to get it back in blood.

I feel like if the Human Hanzo survived, he would’ve talked to Kuai Liang I want you to take the scorpion mantle. I wanna live in peace with my family, and I feel like he would’ve talked to Fire God Lue to allow him to live peacefully, or if in all the timelines his family couldn’t be saved he would die with them. 😁

I found the game section in Mortal Kombat where Kuai Liang (Scorpion) discovers that Bi Han is a traitor, i knew that at some point Bi Han will show his true self and betray Kuai Liang and Smoke. Kuai Liang has to face Bi Han in a battle where Bi Han gives Kuai Liang his mark in the corner of his eye and Kuai Liang escapes from the Ling Kuei clan and Bi Han

@@Saintpotentially on mk11 there's a cutscene were Hanzo tells Raiden about kharon. Kharon was the person who knew where kronikas hourglass was. And Raiden didn't know kronikas location, and Raiden also didn't know who kharon was, Raiden said if kharon doesn't help than they wouldn't be able to stop kronika. But because Hanzo told Raiden about kharon, Hanzo was the one who got kharon and they were able to defeat kronika.

Although the MK1 identity switch is controversial, I do like that it's returning to that original abandoned idea. I do also like it from a storytelling standpoint as Liu gave Hanzo peace (I do still wish it was Hanzo though). Hopefully he'll appear in the next game.

So with kuai liang being scorpion does it mean that if bi han dies to become noob, mean neitherealm is setting up for frost to be the only character with ice powers? Or do they not kill off bi han and instead someone else becomes noob?

Very long but maybe consider? My theory is that Hanzo Hasashi still exists but is just a ninja for the Lin Kuei. The way they make this sub zero seem in this new MK, he sounds like he’s only for his own personal gain. And Scorpion (Kuai Liang) had said in one of the trailers that he is afraid that one day he will have to fight his own brother to be the new Lin Kuei grandmaster because Bi Han like I said seems to have lost his way. That day does come and Sub Zero (Bi Han) ultimately kills Scorpion (Kuai Liang). His own biological brother. Also aware of Sub Zero’s corruption. Hanzo deicides that by Bi Han killing his own brother, Kuai Liang’s predictions deemed true. Maybe Hanzo and Kuai Liang were good friends or Kuai Liang was even his mentor. Or maybe Kuai Liang considered Hanzo more of a brother than his own flesh and blood. or something of that nature. Enraged by the unjust killing of Kuai Liang, Hanzo then assumes the role of Scorpion to honor the fallen Liang, Swearing he will have his revenge by killing Sub Zero for killing his friend and/or his honorary brother. Leaves the Lin Kuei to start The Shirai Ryu, And leads a vengeful path. Even devoting his life to it. much more in tune with Scorpion’s character throughout the entirety of The Mortal Kombat universe before. I hope they wouldn’t be dumb enough to throw away years of lore for absolutely no reason other than to piss people off. (I also considered maybe Hanzo maybe being a biological brother but, Lin Kuei are Chinese and Shirai Ryu are Japanese. Also there’s smoke. Who in this timeline, his parents were killed by the Lin Kuei. But instead of killing him too, they took him in and trained him as a Lin Kuei ninja. It kinda falls in line with Scorpions tragedy. Also could explain the Chinese/Japanese issue I talked about earlier. And also. Where there is smoke, there is FIRE. And I can’t explain how someone with ice powers can suddenly have hellfire powers. That falls more in line with something smoke would probably have.)

@@glenmarkgregorio8167 i was under the impression that initially the shirai ryu, wore traditional kimono, and that scorpions appearance in the first game was to mock the actions of the lin kuei. Then it was retconned afterwards

@@Supreme0757Nah, Hanzo is japanese, and Smoke is clearly white and is also voiced by a white dude. Also I could be wrong but I heard it mentioned somewhere that Smoke in this game is Tomas Vrbada like in the other timelines.

My guess after Kuai leaves he’ll make the Shiri Ryu and have Hanzo as his apprentice when Bi unalives his brother Hanzo takes the mantle of Scorpion to avenge his master
