I love this channel. I've been officially diagnosed as mentally disabled recently, battling with a f***ing horrible anxiety disorder. I've never experienced anything like this before in my entire life, I've even been hospitalized, thinking that I was having a heart attack. I had no idea, the physical effects of that crap. Well, these videos have really helped me relax when I really needed it. I love video games. You're awesome, Patman, thank you so much! I'm also so glad to be a member of your patreon. Life is an absolute war sometimes, I know that you also know this. We're all soldiers fighting through this big mess. I'm proud to be fighting along side with you, and I've got your back out there. Respect.

I went through something similar in fall of 2019. I began having panic attacks and my first one I thought I was having a heart attack and was rushed to the ER. it's been a long year of dealing with it but the remedy I found that almost eliminated it all was just defeating the fight-or-flight response in the brain. If you're not afraid when the familiar symptoms start, and you literally tell your brain that you're not scared, the symptoms of angst and worry will subside usually within a minute or so. I can go deeper into the root cause of my generalized anxiety disorder and how I'm basically cured at this point. Anxiety is curable man

What do you mean the pod racing scene was the best part of Episode 1? It's only because Sega were folish enough not to make a game where they're in open discussion negociating the trade embargo. Its what all the kids loved about Star Wars after all!!! :D

Star Wars Arcade for 32X was the first 32bit game I ever played! At the time I was so blown away. I was only 7 but I still remember the way it made me feel on first impression. It was my first 3D gaming experience. My neighbor and I had Genesis, and then one day his parents brought home a 32X, I had no idea games could be that way, especially at home. Would love to try the original arcade sometime, it looks like a decent step up.

I'm glad to have discovered this channel, though I didn't get to go to them very often, arcades left a massive impression on me in my youth and the death of the arcade scene here in the UK is a crying shame to me. So to find a channel dedicated to the machines that ate up so much of my holiday money and the other bits I could borrow when we visited the seaside is almost as good as being able to get into one in adulthood. My current circumstances mean I am unable to support you efforts, but as soon as that comes to an end I'll doubtlessly pop my patreon cherry on ensuring that the history and memories of those blissful days stays alive.

Oh man! This brings back SO MUCH MEMORIES! Funny enough i saw, played and finished all these Star Wars games in the Pizza Planet fast food restaurant in Disney MGM Studios (now Hollywood) . The Sega first arcade game was very hard and i was like 8 years, I was the gunner and an unknown player was the pilot, he was like twice my age, we both sucked at it and he sugested me to switch places, we finished the game because of it. The Trilogy Arcade is one my favorite games of all time. And I really hate it hasnt been ported, I hope Arcade Up manages to make a deal with both Disney and Sega in order to get this one at home (not a fan a emulators but I get their purpose). Thanks again for this video :) keep up the good work!

I definitely played the last 2 of the arcade games, but never had the chance to play the first one that I wanted to so bad back in the day. Funny thing about the Arcade Trilogy one was that I nearly had the game memorized, but somehow, I always messed up in some capacity for episode 6, thus ending my 1 credit run. I always tried to beat a lot of the games back in the day in just 1 actual credit (i.e light gun shooters like House of the Dead, Lethal Enforcers and even the Time Crisis series for examples). This has been a great channel and love being able to watch the memories come back from playing these games.

I love the videos and your work however just a correction: the sega arcade episode 1 racer is only similar in name to the n64/Dreamcast episode 1 racer game. The home version is not a port of the arcade and is not made by sega. The arcade version is very different because it was controlled by two thruster levers that you pushed or pulled forward or back and you would turn by pulling back on one and the seat would move accordingly. Its a fantastic experience and I'm happy to have played it once years ago. They are pretty hard to find these days.

As usual, good job sir. I never had the chance to experience these in the arcade. I did play SWA on the 32x, and to be honest, was kind of harsh on it. Although I liked the graphics, and was quite impressed with the audio, my general thought was: "I'd rather be playing Starfox" I had fun with SW Ep1 Racer on both the N64 and Dreamcast. The sense of speed was almost overwhelming at times. Had no idea the first 2 cabinets were so rare, but it jives with having seen them.

Star Wars Trilogy Arcade was my favorite. Disneyland had it in Flynn’s Arcade by the Star Trader. My family used to get mad that I’d just sit there and play while they waited in line to ride Space Mountain. We never really had good arcades in our town so that was what I looked forward too. If any of y'all remember seeing JPM at the top of the scores that was me :) I always wanted to play the full size Pod Racer cabinet. I only ever would find the smaller seat ones that didn’t have the fully molded pod.

Star Wars Trilogy Arcade is My GOAT Arcade Game!! I know all the nooks and crannies in that little nutter butter and always remember getting nervous with the final moments of destroying the Death Star, to strike the door at the Hoth escape before hitting those damn strong Wampas and after too, to hit those action buttons when ready (send in the X-Wings on those freaking Tie Fighters when ready, send down an Ewok onto a Stormtrooper on Endor, and push the button after Vader was defeated with me (which next to never happening when I played those little crab nuts) to hear the Emperor say "So be it Jedi"), and I never got my big goal of being on the High Score of a major arcade with those machines (at one point, I'd be damned if I saw an arcade with games from the mid 90s to the early 00s without it), but I played those games damn near religiously when I saw it! Even my dad was a coach for the game (I'm technically not kidding)! I actually played Star Wars Episode I Racer in person, but I sucked at the controls (Maybe it's my little young gamer peanut sized brain that was confused AF with the system, but If I ever play it again, I can truly experience how Pod Racing TRULY is with this being the GOAT version of Star Wars Pod Racing games). I sadly only played the OG Sega Star Wars Arcade on the 32X (on an Emulator no less), and it kinda was this free roaming Star Fox Style Polygon Ship Shooter, and It was one of the better 32X games, but that's not saying much. For a grand, long Time, I was in a massive Star Wars Phase since a young age until the mid 2000s, and it was just a major piece of my Preteen Years along with the DS, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Lego.

Okay, while I appreciate the effort, a few corrections/bits of feedback are in order: - "Tear-as Kaz-ee" - Yoda Stories was actually one of the more fondly remembered eccentricities of the franchise, whereas Super Star Wars was a masochistic nightmare. Plus, in the examples given, it feels like there's an implication the 00s era was some sort of dark time for Star Wars games, even though that was the period were got titles like KOTOR, Republic Commando, Bounty Hunter, Battlefront, etc.? - The home console podracing game is nothing like the arcade version. The arcade game is primarily first-person, far more unforgiving, such as a time limit, and only features a handful of courses. The home console release was an entirely different engine with substantially more content. Even in terms of style of racing game, the home console game to resemble the arcade version is actually the PS2-exclusive sequel, Racer's Revenge. - The remaster of Episode 1 Racer came to all systems, not just PlayStation and Switch. There was also a GOG re-release.

There used to be an original Sega Star Wars in the Brewdog pub in Shepherds Bush, London but I'm not sure whether it's still there now. Patman I doubt you will ever cover my favourite 80's game Burnin' Rubber (aka Bump 'N' Jump) but I hope you are working your way around to Battlezone one day. Unfortunately before I worked there, some Nerf Herder removed the 50" screen tv section and ran the video on a wall with a projector. The best i'm going to be able to do, once I get it out of storage, is run a 50" flat panel on it. I got sent to one of our stores in Chicago, and they had two Arcade Trilogy and two linked Pod Racer arcade, both still intact.

You stumbled a bit there with the info: Sega's Star Wars Racer is a much different game than LucasArts' Star Wars Episode 1 Racer. EDIT: But never mind that; I can see there are a few comments that pointed that out already. My bad for being redundant. Everything else was top-notch as usual though ;) Ya really gave these 3 the treatment they deserved, man. Seeing them all again in all their awesome glory just makes me wish more people talked about 'em. I freakin' played Sega's Racer game to death back in the day; that arcade cab _was amazing_ to hop into when it was available at an arcade in the local mall back in the day. I absolutely love that they opted for the same controls seen in the movie; just a thruster for your left and right engine. Crank them both all the way up to go forward, pull back on left and crank the right up to turn left and vice versa to turn right - it is probably the most immersive gaming experience I've ever had! Even if its playable in MAME nowadays, you just can't replicate that. If I had a ton of disposable income, I'd get a Star Wars racer arcade cab off of eBay :D
