Mr potatohead The Gefira findings based on the official data provided by Statistics Sweden SCB reveal what follows: the fertility rate of native white Swedes is much lower (1,6) than the country’s overall fertility rate (1.9); the Swedish parental system fails to deliver more babies; the number of children with an Islamic name is growing at a fast pace. Since 2010 it has increased by more than 30%, so that now around 8 to 10% of the newborns in Sweden have an Islamic name. the native white Swedish population will be a minority within a maximum of 40 years. The same source shows that 22% of the newborns have a non-Western migration background. Another thing is that we still take in refugees ( about 5000 by last year ) and will continue to do so in 2019. ( stats from the swedish migration association) As well as that we have pro-refugee politicians in high power that assume what they did helped create jobs and strengthen the society through multiculturalism. At the same time swedish families take loans to move out of neighborhoods and people get beat up outside their own homes just because they’re swedish. Sure, multiculturalism can make society a better place, but with the way sweden did it they just ended up creating a society split up in ethnic groups. It’s ironic how they consider themselves so supportive and say that they’re happy to help when they literally are too afraid to live next door to them. Sweden is a sad country.

Adrian Ostrowski The technical definition of "Zero" as an adjective is that it's a mere insult with no actual meaning. You can't really pull the honesty card. It is however true that Sweden is basically insignificant on the geopolitical scene besides developing awfully expensive military equipment that we sell to far off dictatorships and authoritarian governments.

Fun fact, Charles XIV of Sweden or Jean Bernadotte was a French marshal under Napoleon(whom he later betrayed) then a regent of Sweden and finally king.

Technically Sweden is what became of the unifying of the Geats and the Swedes, so you should have included the lands of the Geats in the early years as well, as they were part of what originally would be called Sverige as much as Svealand was. Also, Svealand was not only populated around Mälaren, there's records from that period of people living in Närke and Västmanland, not only Uppland and Gästrikland.

I’m curious about this. I managed to find my ancestors from 1565 on my fathers side who have lived within the same 50km until today. This place belonged to Norway at the time (Bohuslän) but they still had Swedish names, do we know if there were swedish ”settlers” so to speak in Bohuslän?

It's hard to tell. There is not much difference between the nordic countries, except for some minor lingual differences (A swede can understand a Norwegian, Danish is a little harder though), so in terms of ethnicity they are very similar. Especially a region like bohuslän, which has been both Swedish and Norwegian, would probably be very multiethnic, so odds are they were both Norwegian and Swedish!

@@gustav4496 I'm born and raised in Bohuslän and i still live here. I was thinking that after being under Norwegian rule for hundreds of years, names would start looking more Norwegian. But when Bohuslän became Swedish people in the area still had Swedish names after belonging to Norway for almost 700 years. Maybe it was one of those "borderlands" where people really felt and talked like Swedes but weren't de facto Swedes on paper.

Depending on what you mean by "doing way better" Sweden is trying to help people out which has an impact on its economy which makes it harder to focus on other things. Even if some people are way too open minded etcetera Sweden is still moving in an environmental and futuristic direction.

I still dont understand why every single one of these map videos show Tavastia (1:38) as being in eastern Finland, around modern Savonian regions. The core areas of Tavastians were northeast of Finland Proper (area where first Swedish crusade expanded) and their territories were said to have reached "from a salt sea (Gulf of Bothnia) to a salt sea (Gulf of Finland)" in traditional oral stories and other folklore. The modern Tavastian dialects of Finnish even cover these regions for the most part.

n o Haha, ja det skulle nog vara svårt att fixa en "union" men ändå coolt! Sökte på google om hur stora vissa länder var i kvadratkilometer. Både Norge och Sverige var många gånger större än Tyskland. Så vi hade haft en jävla massa yta att göra saker på, vi hade kanske till och med kunnat bli en stormakt igen😊

Nice video. One of the highest quality mappers out there. Out of curiosity, do you have any plans to do mapping videos outside of Eurasia though? There seems to be a shortage of them overall on KZfaq. The few that are out there aren't very great. I've recently started doing some myself.

I don't believe, that Sweden had a flag already in the 900's, which was very similar to the present flag, just with a darker blue - with a cross in it, in pre-christian time. It doesn't make sense. What information is this based on?

I believe that’s just to substitute for no flag at all. Because I remember the 3 crowns flag was their first flag. Otherwise, yes, it doesn’t make sense.
