I think the replacement of the Baryonix to the Spino in III was primarily due to the Spino being more visually distinctive with the sail, and at first glance they have very similar heads as well. Plus, the Spino had that "bigger than a T-Rex" rep going for it, which was used to get the infamous T-Rex vs Spino fight hype going into the release of the movie.

I'm really glad the Baryonix is getting a film appearance. It looks different. I loved that yellow toy.

I love the Baryonyx! It's cool that we finally get a medium size carnivore. Something between the Raptors and the T.rex. It's also pretty cool that we can actually see the Bary (or Suchomimus i'm not sure) in Jurassic World. There is a scene where Grey looks in a padock with a big glass shield and in the reflection of the Glass you can see the mighty jaws of a carnivore that looks like a Baryonyx!

Baryonyx is such an interesting and strange dinosaur, it’s always been one of my favourites. And the artistic rendering they put up on the JW website was awesome, I couldn’t wait to see it make an appearance. Tough to describe my disappointment with the generic two-legged lizard we got in Fallen Kingdom instead.

I've been waiting my entire life for Dilophosaurus to make an appearance in another Jurassic Park movie. Dilophosaurus is my favorite dinosaur.

I think they should save Spino for JP 6. Build up other predators for a change like Baryonyx and Allosaurus.

I cannot wait for the Baryonyx! Ever since playing JP:TLW PS1 game, I've wanted to see it in the film franchise so badly. I'm sure she'll become my new favourite dino in the films in this next one. ♥

I think it makes sense how they'd give the Baryonyx the Spino roar since they're both related, and the roar itself is pretty awesome. I'm very curious to see how the Baryonyx is portrayed in this movie.

Always LOVED the dinosaur for it's signature "sickle-claw" and it's very cool name: *Baryonyx*. Plus the crocodile-sound effect that was used in the "TLW" game for it was a great touch! :D

The Baryonyx is my favourite dinosaur and I was so happy to see it in Jurassic World II

What's funny is that it shows the Baryonx as a highly aggressive beast to the point where it'll chase after Claire & Franklin through the lave filled basement instead of running away which makes me wonder how in the world it was able to live with the stegosaurus & Parasaurolphus without killing most of em. Also interesting how Jurassic world would let you kayak down the river where these creatures hunt unless the baryonx paddock is near the river & you can only see it & not get too close to it

Baryonyx and Carnotaurus are two favorite Dinosaurs, and I'm overwhelmed with excitement to see them come to life in a Jurassic movie finally!

I just got mine from the new Mattel’s your line of Dino’s. She’s just awesome the painting on the face came out great. The Roar is crazy load and chilling!

I allways loved to play the "Enter Carefully" level on the lost world videogame, such it good memories this game gave me and specially the Bary, so its very good to see this dino having a spotlight in the big screen.

Always love that original brochure I have a few copies of it obviously knock-offs but it's so cool to look at what they were actually looking at in the movie.

I am ok with how the Bary looks.Even tho it would have been intresting to see one that looked more like the real thing.Juging form it looks and color I think they used American Aligator DNA to fill in the gaps and it would also explane it strange head shape since alligators have a broder snout that healps them hunt land prey over fish.

Shit you know that I think that Spinosaurus Type Roar they gave it is Awesome!!! I mean they're from the same small family tree. So it makes sense they would sound similar. You also know that I love the fact that it looks like the old JP Series 2 and Lost World Series 2 Baryonyx action figures. I remember when they first dropped the picture and I was writing the comment before I watched your entire video and I had mentioned that I thought it was cool, it reminded me so much of those toys that I love so much and you said the same thing in your video that was pretty awesome. That seems like such a long time ago. Damn your channel has grown so much since then!!!

Wonderful!!! Baryonyx is by far one of my favorite dinosaurs. I own a claw replica of one that I bring to teach my kids at the school. They love it and the kids know exactly what the claw belongs to when they see it. I can't wait to finally see this animal in action. See is jab it's claws into some of those suits in the auction scene.

The Baryonyx is one of my all time favorites. I wouldn't mind seeing him again next movie, alongside Carnotaurus and Allosaurus. But since there's also so much other stuff going on - Rexy, Blue, the Mosa -, and since I wouldn't mind seeing the Dilophosaurus again - or a Dimetrodon, for that matter -, it's probably just too crowded now for all of them to appear.

Ever since I read about Baryonyx at a young age, it quickly became one of my favorite dinosaurs. I still have the toy of the animal from 1997 and I am very excited to see it in Fallen Kingdom

Thank you so much for doing an in-depth discussion video on the history of my favorite dinosaur, of all time. the Baryonyx. Yes everyone loved the T-Rex when they were kids especially growing up in the early 90s, I loved the T-Rex still do. Being really big into dinosaurs I remember getting a book at the school book fair in second grade in 1997, a few months before the release of The Lost World, having already seen Jurassic Park in theaters twice when I was 4, of course owning it on VHS watching it 3 times a week, if not more LOL either way the book I got was strictly about the Baryonyx, it was a short book mosy with pictures and facts about the dinosaur. How it was a Piscivore, that was the first time I ever heard that word before, I quickly found out upon reading more that it meant it's diet consisted mostly a fish, hence the name closely resembles the sign Pisces which is 2 fish, also my sign LOL. The first theropod dinosaur classified as a Piscivorous Dinosaur, being discovered in 83' it was named in 86'. I love crocodiles I thought they were so fascinating seeing this dinosaur that had a such a crocodilian looking face and snout was so cool, I remember reading about the 12in first finger claws and how much of a gash that would leave in you if struck upon by this 30-foot theropod with arms that were huge. I've never seen such big robust arms on a theropod dinosaur before. The first time I looked at a Baryonyx picture I fell in love. At the time I remember seeing the Series 2 JP Baryonyx figure and thinking it was an ugly dinosaur,(that mold was and still is but I love it) let's not be mistaken here it was just as ugly as the Series 2 Gallimimus figure. I got real lucky when it came to JP Series 2 toys no one was real interested in them anymore since all the lost world toys were flooding the shelves. The local department store Ames and another discount department store called Building 19 Head stockpile big boxes filled with Jurassic Park toys. With tons of Series 2 figures. After reading the Baryonyx book I had to get one of those dinosaurs!!! I remember getting 3 of the Baryonyx figures back then. I made my Mother go out immediately to the stores LOL. I told my Mother that I wanted a herd LOL she said I could get one, but my Dad got me the other two behind her back. One day I came home from school and they were laying on my bed. I was so happy I still have all 3 and another 2 unopened in the Box, that I got for collecting purposes later in life. The Lost World Baryonyx was a much better mold and it was still very cool. I was able to pick up a couple of those, at Toys R Us of all places they were usually very bad in my area when it came to any Second Series toy figure line. They recolored and repackaged that figure many times with the JP Dinosaur toy line a couple years before Jurassic Park 3 came out... I have a few of those also. I was excited to get the new Mattel Baryonyx. The coloring is not bad. It's spot-on from the movie counterpart. I know that animal has a lot of blue grey on it but it also seems like it's a bit much, I wish there were some hints of brown and orange in there like it seems to have during the lava tunnel scene, but we all know that is just because of the reflection of the lava, the orange glow against the animals grey blue colors. What I really hate about the new Mattel figure is that only a couple of the mid size theropods have their mouth closed, like the Carno, but the Baryonyx has its mouth open and its lower jaw goes up when you press the button. WHICH makes absolutely no sense, that's not how anything bites down LOL. Poor design on that part. That its mouth is permanently hanging open... Either way that's my Baryonyx story and why it's my favorite dinosaur. Those huge 12in claws, looking like a crocodile, not being as big as a T-Rex but, certainly not small, pretty much being a fisherman dinosaur and I'm a serious fisherman, saltwater and fresh. That was another reason I thought it was so cool because I loved fishing as a kid and that's what this dinosaur did. I actually gave the book Away accidentally during a yard sale about 7 years back it was supposed to go in the staying stack but it went in the for sale stack, one of those things. Some lady bought the whole stack of children's books including a really cool Illustrated Raptor book. I was able to repurchase that Raptor broke later on in life but I've never been able to find that Baryonyx book I have several books on the Baryonyx all a lot better more accurate of course but for the Nostalgia Factor that's why I would like to find it someday.

I've always liked the Baryonyx, so naturally I'm looking forward to this. I never got the original JP figure or Lost World figure, but I did get the repaint of the latter released for the last JP like before Jurassic Park II was released...whatever that line was called.

Love the Baryonyx!!!! Awesome addition that was long overdue!!! I am not sure of the Carnitaurus yet... I am interested in Alosaurus buy I know it has a small role. I hope Dilophosaurus makes an appearance finally. This is one dino that is totally underated. It's small, fast and very creepy. I just know if it were up to me, I would give the fans something fresh but with a twist of the faves.

Ole' Bary's big-screen debut HAS been long overdue, I agree! To me, its "Fallen Kingdom" design looks close to what the actual animal probably looked like, with anatomical discrepancies so that it's consistent with how InGen's other theropods were engineered.

Over all I agree with u on the Baryonx and this one dinosaur I'm excited about as well as for the Carnotosaurus and yeah adding the spinosaurus roar goes with it but I would also like to hear it with new sounds but it still goes with it.

I like the design of the vary because it looks almost in canny to an alligator (which I think they used to fill in the gaps also giving it a large amount of aggression)

Love that the bary finally gets on the big screen. I prefer all dinos to be as close to scientifically accurate but just happy to see it. Anyone that plays ark would love that they included the bary in the game as well.

Klayton, you are the best! When Evolution comes out I'd love any videos you do on the game! Baryonyx is one of my favorites alongside the carnotaurus. I love the look of both beasts is incredible. Looks like some crocodile dna led to the scutes on the bary's hide and likely its aggression. Although they were listed under medium aggression in promotion for Jurassic World. Maybe they are more aggressive due to being under duress. The eruption likely makes a lot of those panicked dinos extra dangerous.

oh yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing Carno and Baryonyx. But I'm also looking forward to seeing what Stygimoloch's role is in all of this. There's yet to be any more info on her and it's peaking my curiosity. Also, the Baryonyx looks more like a modern day Dinocroc to me. If you saw the movie, you'll get what I'm talking about. lol
