The History of the Forgotten Nickelodeon Water Park

S.1 Episode 1: Dustin takes a deep look into the history of the forgotten Nickelodeon Water Park known as Nickelodeon Splash. This Water Complex and Park was located within the larger Nick Blast Zone.
Nickelodeon created an entire entertainment complex located within the Universal Studios Hollywood Theme Park. Beginning with Totally Nickelodeon: an interactive game show theater located in the Upper Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood, Nickelodeon began to make their mark on Universal Studios Hollywood.
Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando Florida had been dazzling guests for years before Hollywood finally got a fair shake at Nickelodeon attractions.
The final attraction lineup at Universal Studios Hollywood included the Totally Nickelodeon Show, Rugrats Magic Adventure, Nickelodeon Blast Zone, Nickelodeon Splash and Wild Thornberry's Adventure Temple.
Other attractions that Nickelodeon has created include the now defunct Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando and also the Nick Hotel. You can also find Nickelodeon Universe, potentially one of the only Nickelodeon Theme Parks still around, located at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. Wow I completely remember everything. I got so soaked one time my dad had to buy me new clothes lol! a blue rugrats shirt in particular. Also i loved making the balls float suspended in air in the thornberry's area.

I never got a chance to expirience Nickelodeon Splash at all, but I still believe it deserves a spot in the park. But as a bonus fact, I saw the attraction as Curious George and the still open Nickelodeon Stuff store before Harry Potter replaced it with “Hogwarts Magic Adventure”

The Wild Thornberry temple is like one of my earliest memories and until today I was never sure if it was a real thing or I just made it up. I can finally rest easy now after like 20 years

Nickelodeon had a resort in Orlando FL back in the early 2000's. It was so cool. I stayed there because my son loved Rugrats and Fairly Odd Parents. Boy does this back memories.

The 2000's have been such a dark age for Nick. The station has nosedived, Nick at Nite has nosedived, TV Land is no different than any other station, the studio is gone, the magazine is gone (far as I know), and pretty much every Nick is attraction is gone from Universal studios.

Like with what happened with Carowinds and Paramount. There were a lot of Nickelodeon rides when I first visited Carowinds. I was really sad when they were gone.

I can remember playing on this on my tenth birthday when I visited Universal Studios Hollywood. I didn't realize the bucket dropped water on you and got totally drenched. It was an overcast and cloudy day so my parents tried using the air guns in the Wild Thornberrys section to try and dry some of my clothes.

Just randomly remembered going to Universal every Sunday after church with my family, where we would use a single one of those food wristbands to feed all of us by keeping it just loose enough to where we could just pass it along to the next person till everyone got their food at Mel's. The Blast Zone brings back so many good memories. Even made a few friends there with some of the other kids that would also go there frequently. There was also that cool ass ball factory area with the mounted guns right next to it

Universal Studios should’ve kept Nickelodeon productions in the Orlando park and should’ve kept the Nickelodeon areas in the park as well. It’s sad it would’ve been a huge hit to have it standing there till this day

I really miss the "Nickelodeon" area of Universal Studios Hollywood! :'( I remember going there when my family and I went to Universal Studios Hollywood (back in June, 2003 (when I was 8-years-old))!

I’m here bc the ball pit brought back so many memories with my dad as a kid I’m 22 but I remember clearly that I would always bug my dad if we could stay longer in the pit without this video Idk if I would of ever remember those wonderful memories thank you

Nickelodeon Studios 1990-2005 almost 15 years when it closed Nickelodeon Resort Orlando 2005-2016 3 years it closed replaced holiday inn resort. It’s makes me sad when it shut down or closed permanently

As an archivist, I vouch that your closing statement is indeed what many archivists, including friends and colleagues, feel. We loved those things that came before and the ones that may dissapear, but the reason for archiving and saving them isn't judgment or "hiding in the past," it's the desire to provide experiences and happiness to the future. For Example: If a site you know is removing Flash games, I suggest emailing them and I recommend BlueMaxima's "Flashpoint" program that is legal, ad-free, and very open with assistance to websites and people hoping to save the things that were important to them and make that experience available to the future. Whether or not the future enjoys them isn't up to us; we give them the chance to make that choice for themselves. Hopefully, we'll ultimately provide the relief or inspiration to create something else going forward.

Nickalodeon Sicktoon Blast, annonced on the 12th October 2021, the ride follows sponge bob as he goes on a wild seahorse ride through a 30yr womens asshole. The ride will feature cameos from Catdog, The Angry Beavers, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turds.
