The favourite palace and residence of the notorious Tudor King Henry VIII was Hampton Court Palace. It was built by Cardinal Wolsey, but after his fall from grace it was given to the King of England. Whilst here, Henry's 6 wives all spent time at the palace, and it was considered the finest Tudor residence in the whole of England. But it was a site where the royal court was based, and because of this much gossip occurred here. But Hampton Court was the site where one Queen of England died. Jane Seymour, Henry's third wife died after she gave birth to the future King Edward VI. It's said that her ghost haunts the palace, and that every year she visits her sons former lodgings.
There have been many ghost sightings at Hampton Court, and one of the most shocking is the reports of Catherine Howard's ghostly spectre. Just outside of the Chapel Royal, it's claimed that Catherine's screaming ghost runs up and down the gallery outside screaming for her husband, Henry VIII who was inside praying.
