The History Of The Keytar
is about the keytars that have had an impact on the story for the keytar.
Did you know that the first keytar was made in 1795 !! I did not know this before I started to do some research on the history of the keytar.
There are of course some of the keytars I did not mention in my video, but I tryed to cover most of the relevant keytar history.

It's nice to see the keytar having its comeback, because there is so many possibilites you can do with it either it's a fully-fledged synthesizer or just a MIDI controller, that has basically infinite options of sounds. And from personal experience I totally love my hot red Alesis Vortex Wireless 2, because it's just crazy, how you can jam the living crap out of it.

I do so agree with you :-) The keytar is the coolest thing a keyboard player can do live :-) Love to jam with it as well

Aldo don't forget that the Keytar came from the Accordion because the Accordion is simply a Mini Reed Organ Worn On Straps which allowed Pianists to play Standing up. The Keytar allowed Pianists to do the same thing.

Great video and totally wowed that the conception of the keytar was way back in 1795. Looking through KZfaq I saw some amazing pink Floyd guitar solos from comfortably numb played on keytar and must admit to being totally smitten. Being a keyboard player foremost also wanting to crack playing a real guitar too. But yes Keytar is in the plan to add to my studio🖤

Thats awsome man 😃 Bringing the Keytar to a live set or a production brings a whole new dimension to the act/recording. And I was also shocked by the fact that the Keytar was introduced that early 😃😃😃

This is quite fascinating. Who would have thought that the earliest form of the keytar was dated back in 1795. I can see how that was innovative for its time. And all the other instruments predating the keytars were pretty cool. My brother own keytars made by Roland and Yamaha. He bring one of them to open jams one night and it was totally awesome. Anywho, this is a pretty cool video, Glenn. It’s fascinating to learn about the history of keytars.

Wow great lesson today. I never knew the keytar went all the way back to the late 1700 I still have my Roland SH 101 I bought back in 83, the blue edition. Roland's new Edge looks so freaking cool. I have a plan building in a Korg Monotron into a guitar😊but that's not a keytar after all. So great to watch your collection Glenn👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Yes he did :) There were actually many great artists that made the Keytar famous, but I couldn’t include everyone. Stevie Wonder used(and stil use) the Roland Ax :) And he had several others too 😃😃😃
