My biggest complaint with Warframe was, somewhere around Gradivus Dilemma, there was actual talk of preserving the general theme of the event quests as more actual quests. Not only did that never happen but major events still released that basically changed the narrative of Warframe constantly after this as well. For late-comers, the whole Alad V arc is basically incomplete as a result beyond knowing he's some weirdo who was with the corpus, then became infested, and then is uninfested by Second Dream.

I've been bothered by that too, and to further the issue, I'm pretty sure I met infested Alad V after the Second Dream (I'm almost certain you're not even capable of unlocking that quest before SD), meaning not only is his story arc in fragments, it's not even in the right order

Yeah, it might be possible to get to Eris and do Patient Zero and meet Mutalist Alad V before doing The Second Dream, but youd really have to go out of your way to do that. Pretty much everyone is going to meet cured Alad V before Mutalist Alad V

⁠@@thereptilianwolflobo4824Mutalist Alad V is fought on Eris, and I believe you unlock The Second Dream after clearing the Uranus Junction. So, most players definitely see Alad V as a completely normal Corpus dude for the majority of the star chart, then suddenly become infested, just for him to turn back to normal by the time they do The New War.

Eternalism solves most lore issues in the lore VS gameplay. Vor shows up "dead" in the undercroft, and can be seen talking about his death to players who JUST DOWNLOADED THE GAME because they can choose to begin in Duviri now. There are also things you can do out of order, like do a disruption before ever going to fortuna and meeting Little Duck, as most new players don't have access to the backroom (or know it even exists).

I was one of the Tenno playing Scarlet Spear on Switch. There were really just not enough people to make the event work, just a lot of lonely relays and uncompleted defenses. Nobody seemed to have a decent Railjack either. I still had fun when it was working though, and still wear the Scarlet Spear emblems on my Limbo. The Real MVP of Scarlet Spear. I'd love to see it come back some day, if only so new players can see what the actual WAR part of the New War looked like.

Also a switch scarlet spear vet. Disregarding the population issue, it was some of the most fun I've ever had playing warframe. Such a shame that the bugs and now crossplay prevent it from ever coming back.

Still think a lot of the older story events and operations should be in the game in some form, characters like Alad V are so confusing without them (if you don't know it existed, you can't just 'look it up').

I miss Void Keys, Dark Sector: Solar Rail Conflict, Raids and Tactical Alerts. (Tactical Alerts the most though, because they'd often give you whole Reactor's, Forma, or Catalyst's)

Gradivus has a lot of funny stories around the time it went on, Clans kicking out people who did missions for the opposing force, small exploits, weird timings, etc. But the most amusing thing of the time was when the Martialis node was singlehandedly left in a stalemate state by a handful of top grineer-sided clans for around two or three days until DE forced themselves to have it completed in favor of the corpus. The ramifications of this situation were huge cuz most of the competitive clans and those wanting the reward from the corpus were pushing so hard to have the node finish itself that the grineer clans ended up taking 3 or 4 contested nodes in the time Martialis was being held. The fall of martialis is basically the reason why my clan was able to secure that golden Ruk statue all that time ago, and its sacrifice will forever be remembered by those few that remain around.

I wish Scarlet Spear would come back.. I played both Scarlet Spear and Orphix Venom and they were both really fun, especially the hidden message in the OV transmissions, and the easy farmability of SS was top tier..

@@TheMasterplanter she honestly doesnt even need that, she still kills super well with just her raw damage from normal and slide attacks, i always run nourish on my build for her for tons of bonus viral damage and having enough energy sustain to never drop her 4.

This is a great timeline of all of Warframe's events, and how they shaped the meta and community over the years. It's also indicative of DE's changing methods of game development and community engagement over time. Before quests and endgame systems, events were the main focus of the game, but as DE puts more effort into the former, the latter must sadly decrease. As a long-time player it's quite nostalgic to hear about these events again.

I had an idea whilst watching this video. There are many systems in the game that have changed over the decade, like Melee '1.0' Melee '2.0' Melee '3.0' Same with Railjack and so so much more! I'd reaaally love a series on this or atleast one on the melee system, because i can not find any significant info on this. I bet this "timecapsule" series would be a banger!

one small note, you mentioned that the jupiter gas city update happened back with alad V, and while he was involved it wasn't till the jovian concord and ropololyst were added in 2019 that jupiter got its gas city tiles. Prior to then jupiter featured corpus ship tiles exclusively.

Minor edit: Mutalist Incursions did not bring the ospreys it was actually BREEDING GROUNDS (Mutalist Incursions brought the other enemies instead) and Specters of Liberty made Rescue 2.0 permanent, Warframe already had Rescue 1.0 as permanent but 2.0 was not sorry about the confusion!

The very first one I took part in was Gravidus Dilemma, but the last one I think that kept my clan together was False Profits, because that was simply the last one that gave the top 3 clans their statues. Then Rathuum came along, and it was essentially just a participation trophy for the gold tier trophies, and it killed a lot of the mood that we had to aim for the top, and so we drifted apart and most of us stopped playing. I still miss doing things like Cicero Crisis and Tethra's Doom for the statues the most, and then Eyes of Blight because we'd get the points legitimately, once we found out the others were using the glitch, we simply started using it too, so that we'd secure our #1 spot.

Oh my god this is so cool! I loved events back then. I was disappointed whenever i found out that nowadays... there is nothing like the community events... I remember grinding hours of Defense with my clan to climb the leaderboard!

Operation Rathuum was the first event I properly "participated" after starting WF (in quotes as it was more running around like a headless chicken). To this day I'm still coasting off the points if I need to fight Kela. Also, I remember going absolutely hard on Scarlet Spear when it dropped. It 100% had its problems, but in most cases I would always end up topping the relay leaderboard for one of the sides when I would go in. I really do wish we got a new event like scarlet/orphix though since there are still a bunch of arcanes I need to max.

I still wish they'd reintroduce some of these in a rotation around the year so newer players can play them as well. Sadly some of the rewards just don't hold up anymore and spending abunch of devtime to get old content back probably feels useless to them when they could just as well create new content.

Never played Scarlet Spear but i really hope they manage to find a way to bring that type of gameplay back. Though it seems unlikely since even the devs have said they don't wanna do it again since developing it was hell

I miss Scarlet Spear...Sure it was buggy but it had a lot of potential. I know it'll never happen but I hope they bring it back as a recurring event someday.

Kinda same. I wish they improve on it instead of scrapping it. It was the war on Sentients before The New War so it's weird to make it recurring but I think the format works. Maybe just switch out Sentients for a different faction instead. Like a Grineer fleet on a Corpus planet or a Corpus fleet on a Grineer planet. I'd even go as far as saying this would work as a new Invasion system. And have the Invasion rewards be on a relay market instead. Weapon parts, Nyx parts, Fieldron, Mutagen Mass, Detonite Injectors, potatoes and whatnot. Throw in Zanuka Hunter, Grustrag 3, and Phorid as spawning bosses even, instead of assassins marking you. Just throwing that idea out there.

Perhaps have Kuva Liches, Sisters of Parvos, or Infested Liches participate as well to have another way to kill them or to farm murmurs or farming Corrupted Holokeys

Man, this was my favorite video you're done, by far. Thank you! I feel like operations and events would be easily reused content to keep players engaged during boring times. I really wish DE would bring back some of the events and operations, especially Scarlett Spear (but working ofc) and Orphix Venom (Don't even think about telling me I can play Orphix in RJ unless you legitimately want to farm them lol). Some new ones would be awesome. I feel like DE is losing interest in the game. When I started playing it felt like something new was always going on, but now it's been a while since the last really cool event (Plauge Star) if you don't count the Wolf alert farm which had sweet rewards and was fast (25 seconds lol) but most time was spent loading in. I'm looking forward to P.S. tho

I remember playing scarlet spear from the beginning. I didnt have a decent railjack so I didn't go into space because I hated being the host, even though everyone said it was the best. (Also I kept missclicking and using the fucking omni instead of the oplink so it teleported me to the ship) So I learned the patterns and how to "speedrun" ground and annihilated everything with my boi volt. Good ol' times. Also, thank god the relay rebuilding event was not a Mandela effect. I keep telling people about that and they don't remember it.

As a genuine Limbo player during Scarlet Spear, yeah, it was pretty much dead at certain relays. I stayed up nights doing it it, but every now and then relays would switch. I loved the Railjack aspect but lord, i hated waiting for codes to get sent because ground team either didn't really hit the gas or because all of the teams were nonexistent.

As sort of a middle child who first operation was Pacifism Defect, I really wanted to experience older operation and limited time event, and at the same time feel disappointed on how little these events has happened since 2017. They really haven't launched any new game modes that has story or settings behind them. They are merely missions now

Archwing and limbo might not be fun today for some but that update was the greatest time in Warframe for me. We got our Orbiter that year and Archwing controls were perfect at the time. Limbo was mid but it didn’t matter. Truly a peak time in Warframe.

Since starting in January 2018, I’ve somehow managed to miss every single limited time event (aside from Glassbreaker, if that counts), as well as the initial debut of any recurring event. Every time I decided to take an extended break from Warframe, I’d return and find out I missed some content and its unique rewards, which hurt my relationship with the game for a while. Honestly, it was one of the main reasons that made me almost quit Warframe indefinitely. Using FOMO as a tool to ensure consistent player counts is simply put: _lame._ It wasn’t until the release of The New War that I decided to return to the game, and since then there hasn’t been any new operations. I think DE has learned their lesson in regards to them (or more likely, Steve was probably the only person who thought they were a good idea), and I’m really glad they have.

I wish DE copy one thing from D2: the event timeline so people can understand the lore a bit better. I think it would be cool that the different consoles have differences of the timeline because of eternalism hehe

I do not care what anyone says Scarlet spear was the most fun i ever had in Warframe bar none. Yes it was horribly buggy, but alot of that was due to railjack being still fairly new and buggy. Some of it was just no spawning softlocking progress but by god flying out with a crew of mesas, mags and limbos annihilating sentients really felt great. Alot of the enjoyment came from how new and utterly ominous the sentient tileset and enemies were. It really felt like we uncovered something new, live in a hub of many players. Not to mention but being the single instance of arcanes being farmable via points and shop systems was dope and i miss it.

I've been waiting for so long for cross save to pc so i can play again. I quit during the fortuna update and havent thought of warframe much. Recently started watching warframe content and im ITCHING to play. Is it worth starting fresh now or just keep on waiting? (I have probably over 300+ hours on my console account with a LOT of warframes and progrssion.

I'm surprised you didn't mention how DE nerfed Khora and Limbo during Scarlet Spear. Yes, DE permanently altered two Warframes over a limited time event.

God i forgot how long ive pkayed warframe .. the only thing i didn't like was the pay to play .. ie 4 lifes per warframe every 48 hours .. so if you where new u needed good clan and team mates etc or u where having to buy lifes for plat ie cash at the time if new .. plus i remember selling slash n puncture sets for over 1k each mod and trinity sytems was 1k plat . I got primed chamber and was lucky enough to buy 2 more at that time then prices sky rocketed upto 40k plat to 60k plat .. i left the game before barro got primed chamber then when i came back everyone had it and that hurt a lot 😂😂😂😂 wish i had sold all 3 before then 😂😂😂.. ohh how i love this game oof warframe .. the changes from then to now have been amazing.. my best moment was second dream ,, it was so crazy at the time and my mind was blown 😊.. de have made this a 1 of a kind game with every update , and nerfs galore , but yet it works and gets better every time .. more so for new players .. 😊 big ❤ and love this video.. tenno out there be safe n big ❤ in the real world and remember a vet is just the same as a noob .. hes just been here longer and knows a little more about the game but had to start from where you are ,, so love your fellow tenno no matter the hours , years , or mr rank .. show ❤ 😊

I may only be a Warframe player of 5 years, but I don’t feel too bitter about missing the Alad V arc. Most DC fans nowadays are too young to have voted for the death of Jason Todd. But that doesn’t make it any harder to enjoy the character Red Hood. Granted, Red Hood is a more interesting character but still

Really think they should have just slightly faked the two team interactions in Scarlet Spear... Like, just grab like any data from any ground game and sent it to one or multiple teams at once, not like anyone can tell the difference or know exactly who you are paired to to begin with , you didn't have to 1-1 every ground team with a single space team... Hopefully the bring it back with semi-fake interactions or at least a system where even when there's nobody in your instance running ground missions , the space team gets feeed believable ground data from other players in other instances or something. And before you all go saying "Faking is baad".. Not like all those fomorian and razorback armadas have any chances to destroy relays nowadays, so it woudn't be the first fake-out that occurs.

The neatest part about this entire video is that it is a timeline of warframes visual progression. This game looked so bad 10yrs ago and now its fantastic. That and its a good this released before WITW because good God did the most recent operation suck eggs. Not because it was hard but because it was boring as hell.
