My dad and I saw THE HOBBIT in the theater. He was never one for these types of movies, but he came anyway. I remember this song at the end during credits. It was beautiful. My dad passed away in 2017. I will always cherish the memory I had with him that day.

I think he would've liked the Hobbit to be a bit more playful, it's a tale for children originally, the motion picture is like an action movie.

zethgb It was very action packed but it did have those moments. The moments where it didn't get your heart racing but touched it and made you feel very in touch with the characters emotionally. Also while it started of as a story for his children, like all of his stories did, they were touched by the more difficult and horrifying aspects of his life. The marshes for instance in Lord of the rings was inspired by his time in the trenches as a soldier.

‘the hobbit’ trilogy is one of my comfort movie series. it was wonderfully done and has gotten me through a tough time right now. And i listen to this so on repeat for at least and hour at least once a week. this song perfectly explains how much the dwarves are willing to risk to take back their home.

Oh, misty eye of the mountain below Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke Keep watching over Durin's son If this is to end in fire Then we should all burn together Watch the flames climb high into the night Calling out father, stand by and we will Watch the flames burn auburn on the mountain side And if we should die tonight Then we should all die together Raise a glass of wine for the last time Calling out father, prepare as we will Watch the flames burn auburn on the mountain side Desolation comes upon the sky Now I see fire, inside the mountain I see fire, burning the trees And I see fire, hollowing souls I see fire, blood in the breeze And I hope that you'll remember me Oh, should my people fall Then surely I'll do the same Confined in mountain halls We got too close to the flame Calling out father hold fast and we will Watch the flames burn auburn on the mountain side Desolation comes upon the sky Now I see fire, inside the mountain I see fire, burning the trees I see fire, hollowing souls I see fire, blood in the breeze And I hope that you'll remember me And if the night is burning I will cover my eyes For if the dark returns then My brothers will die And as the sky's falling down It crashed into this lonely town And with that shadow upon the ground I hear my people screaming out Now I see fire, inside the mountain I see fire, burning the trees I see fire, hollowing souls I see fire, blood in the breeze I see fire, oh you know I saw a city burning (fire) I see fire, feel the heat upon my skin (fire) And I see fire (fire) And I see fire burn auburn on the mountain side

Lynxchillin08 "90% of the entertainment comes from the USA" Think about that statement for a minute. Do you have any idea how much entertainment is put out around the world that does not come from the US? 90% of the entertainment that YOU watch may come from the USA, but to say that the rest of the world only produces 10% of that entertainment is ignorant.

RealityCheckY2K Anger, pain, is big motivation for a lot of singer/songwriters. You get a better song when the person cares about what they sing about. P!nk said that things like anger..the negative motivate her to keep writing.. passion for change is what motivates her writing. he said "it does not motivate me to write a song like "i love him, he is so cute" " A lot of the time, music stemming from anger, pain..world problems make a better song.

You are not the only one who had to cry, I was in the car with my parents and little brother and sister, and this song came on the radio, and I was hiding my face under a blanket to hide the fact that I was crying like a baby.

and by the way, how can a great song spoil anything in the movie? it's not like the song is saying anything about what happens... And I did not say that you had to listen to it NintenFan1996 :-) ...

I would not mind if the world ended to this song. Like imagine Ed Sheeran singing this song while the world is ending, that would be perfect.
