Great song. I was 18 when I first heard them sing Bus Stop in 1967. I m 75 now . They were a great group that I still listen to. They made several good songs back in the day. You ll enjoy researching them a bit.

It was said he was in India and saw a little 6 year old carrying his 10 year old brother who had no legs. He talked to him and asked him if he was heavy to carry. The child said " he's not heavy, he's my brother".

The first recorded instance of this phrase was in 1884 when a book was published by a man in Scotland who came across a young girl carrying her infant brother and he asked her if she wasn't getting exhausted. She replied to him "He ain't heavy, he's my brother." Yes, this song always makes my heart churn and my eyes tear up. One of the very greatest songs ever written.
