I love the way Earl's left hand glides along the strings, barely applying any pressure, yet still getting that tone.

I'm not positive, but I think Fiddling Arthur Smith wrote this tune. He certainly played it. It's widely played in old-time sessions, though usually at a more moderate pace.

That is a pretty moderate pace. Check out Arthur Smith's version.

@@JudgeSturdy Yup, Paul was easily capable I'd going much faster. If you've ever seen the video of the Foggies playing Randy Lynn Rag around '58 or so, he damn near saws that ol' Stainer in two.

I’m not taking nothing away from the man he was pretty decent on the banjo but I’ve actually got family members that could beat him he just invented the three finger style Fairchild perfected it
