My life is so empty I can't bare to think of what it would be without my beloved Waltons. I love each and every one of them. They bring joy and sometimes sadness to my life but I'm so thankful for them.

Thanks for the reminiscing. I loved "The Waltons" in the 1970s and watching the reruns on the Hallmark channel and a Christian outlet. America needs to get back to the family and simpler times. So many of the adult actors on "The Waltons" are now gone.RIP to those...grandma, grandpa, John senior, Godsey and a few others. John Ritter too. Thanks for sharing.

To all of us who watched the first airing of "The Homecoming" when it aired in 1971 and followed "The Waltons" during its long television run, this is a remarkable find! Watching the cast as "just kids" and their family making a movie unaware of what a great era they were opening up for legions of fans is wonderful. David Huddleston, by the way, later appeared in one of my favorite episodes of "The Waltons" called "The Literary Man." It is worth looking up--a classic early episode where John-Boy meets his first real writer. Thank you so much for this!

It's a wonder why David Huddleston didn't come back to play A.J. for the episode when they shoot scenes at Waltons Mt. for a movie that he wrote?? I'm guessing he wasn't available or some other issue so they got another actor..

Its wonderful to see the instant connection that all the actors and actresses that played "the children" had with each other. And how they looked out for one and other.

This is by far the best ever Christmas movie. This show let's you see what it was like growing up poor. I grew up poor and I can relate to this show in some instances. It's great that it can still be seen today. If you haven't watched it, you must do so.

I think its the best Christmas show too and it should be on TV every year. Also the Christmas Box a Hallmark movie with Richard Thomas from 1995. A religious station had it on a few years ago. This video is so cool. I am a few years younger than Kami and grew up with the show.

It was a great movie. Bill Windom played a fun character. Actually he was from New York. The closest he got to Virginia was his time spent in D.C. He was actually offered a recurring role of Charlie Snead in the series but the character did not make too many appearances and Bill couldn't commit to an infrequent role.

This movie will always be my absolutely favorite Christmas movie. There's such a sense of place and time and the dynamic between the children, the grandparents and the parents worked so incredibly well. John Walton was more rougher but just as compassionate at Ralph Wait's John Walton and Patricia Neal's Libby reverted to her younger self when reunited with her husband. This s a lovely movie. It will forever remain my favorite Christmas movie ever.

Im so sad that Hallmark has dropped the Waltons from its lineup just this past weekend. I am shocked. This channel was the background entertainment for my days and nights. When the Waltons or Dr. Quinn was on I was captivated and rarely missed an episode. I have seen them all over and over yet everyone is like watching all over again. Why did Hallmark drop the Waltons? Im devasted! Dr. Quinn is on now but dont know for how long. Seems the Waltons have been replaced with Cheers and Happy Days! (Poor replacement in my book). Hallmark please bring my beloved Waltons back! 😢

Whats funny is that grandpa played by bergen, and when the family is gathered around the radio, its bergen himself, wuth charlie mccarthy that the family would more than likely have tuned into. It must have been strange to portray an era in which you were an integral aspect of.
