Top job! I don’t know of many (any) “naked” styled coffee machines on the market, perhaps it’s an enthusiasts-only thing, but I think it looks great. How did the copper accents and styling factor into your build (if at all?) Any plans to re-style or modify it at all to refine it while keeping a bit of the raw look?

This is great! It looks similar to the Francis Francis 6 espresso machine I bought for $25 on craigslist. Yours looks more robust though....

I don’t see anything that would require a lathe, probably just a welder and a chop saw.

@@CiCiLeathercraft possibly, but all the nitty gritty of things of complex custom designs like these requires a lathe to make the custom fittings to put all the pieces, parts and comports together. It’s called used to make customer parts as well.

Spencer. I hope you get the drift. People are frustrated by seeing what is essentially useless :48 sec video of coffee coming out of a machine. What is special about your machine? What are the components? What can it do? Is it basically a homemade Slayer w/o the case? How much did it cost? Did you modify Slayer to do complete flow profiling? How is the coffee you’re pulling, compared to actual Slayer?

Lefthandedsmile An Arduino Nano controls the steam tank autofill and the brew temp PID. I wrote some simple firmware for it.

@@bailey2829 Thank you. Im attempting a similar project using Cimbali HX parts, a GICAR for autofill, and a PID for temp control in the grouphead.

Lefthandedsmile awesome! That’s definitely a better way to go than controlling it with an Arduino. The Arduino has proven itself but setup with a dedicated PID and fill controller is much easier. Email me at spencer@madecascade.com, I’d love to see pictures of your project.
